Dumb thread. It's lose/lose for XI players really.
XIV turned out to be shit and way below anyone's expectations but now XI doesn't receive as much attention because they're scrambling to get XIV up to shape.

Same could be said about your post. At least your and my previous post have something in common: Worthless. Have fun.
If they would make a real remake of FFXI I doubt no one will really bother. Maybe for few weeks "Hey look at this place! It's now so beautiful" but then "Everything else is still the same.. why bother?". You don't remake MMOs. It serves no point.

They need to "copy" good elements from their single-player franchise titles if anything (and no I'm not talking about "jobs" and "classes").
Alot of people have tried to go back to 11 after 14 was so horrible. But that game is sorta pointless now with abyssea. Not to mention the economy is jacked to hell and back.

They sorta did that in FFXI. Just, you know, with multiplayer and grinding. It still had:
-Linear cutscene driven story
-"Limit breaks"
-Cid
-Dungeons with door locks/puzzles/shenanigans and a boss at the end
-Rich lore (Something the non-Ivalice games lacked)
-Great characters
-Well designed world
-Excellent series of storylines
-Optional quests
-Actual Final Fantasy stuff (Chocobo racing, summons, etc.)
- NO - simple as that, I'm not here to play FFXI-2, they can put the good useful features they used in FFXI into FFXIV but clone? No thanks.
- FFXI and FFXIV is programmed differently, like FFXIV using Crystal Tools so it's not as easy to just simply copy/paste code and bam! you got yourself a cool FFXI with new upgraded graphics.
- If you speak of this again, I will smite you with my sweaty subligar...
Jeez, that's like a checklist of things FFXIV lacks. They sorta did that in FFXI. Just, you know, with multiplayer and grinding. It still had:

well ffxi wasn't made for casual play, and this one seems to be going that route. if they trying to get back all the old ffxi players it ain't gonna happen this way. ffxi-2 casual mode isn't what they looking for, it will be ffxi-2 more hardcore mode.
If I was SE, I'd want to tap into the huge fanbase of final fantasy lovers who are either casual or play FF single player console RPGs (See 6 million people)...
And TBH, it's not like they didn't warn us of that from day 1... from the very first interview, they said this game would be very accessible to casual gamers
The single-player titles had challenges appealing to both casual and "hardcore" audiences, without dumbing down the intuitive and engaging gameplay in the process. Good story-telling is essential to any good RPG (though the stagnant gameplay and lack of real content in FFXIV surely detracts from what is present).
