I think this is a perfect time to state some fanboy facts:

Market Wards are the best thing evah' I love roleplaying in a zombie room!
Who needs more story content anyway? I love the fact that npc quests are nothing more than leves!
60min raids yay! Why play WoW when we have this! Besides there's some palette-swap gear as a reward, whoopee!
I love how diverse and exciting the leves are! Completing them feels like I'm really helping these people, even though they ask me to complete the sam things over and over again, ...hmm
Who needs landscape overhauls? We have 3 huts incoming! They'll surely spice up things in this copy paste zone that's the size of Texas.
No death penalty! It's totally icky when the game forces me to think dying as some kind of bad thing!
Who needs cutscenes in NPC quests?! Seriously didn't they see the leve- ...I mean flavor text box? That's some immersive compelling stuff right there!

Now let me just kill some marmots so I can give them to this guy that doesn't have a name but is a real character let me tell you. You can just remember him by his appearance alone. He does the standing animation and usually wears clothes that have 3 shades of brown in them, you know the one with haircut 1 out of 5 on his head?

Anyway you all know what we say to people who don't like these things? Leave now, lols we don't need a playerbase to keep this MMO alive all it needs is a few dedicated fans.

But since you decided to call me out because the character in my sig isn't as highly leveled as yours, I don't really care what you have to say anymore.

Wooooh boy aren't you scared in your pants for the IMPENDING DOOM? I mean honestly I've been biting my nails for 6 months woooah nelly they sure know how to keep us excited!

I sure do hope they keep posting those walls of text only lore about something that's going to happen at some point in time in the future even though it was supposed to happen 4 or 5 months ago but does it matter? We all know it'll be such a mindblowing experience where we'll have to touch bells and hunt r5 mobs for an awesome super duper re-skinned hat!

This. I know it's my fault but I feel like a gigantic moron for actually recommending this game to people saying "yeah it's not at it's greatest but it has loads of potential and will surely turn around within months, get a head start now because it's gonna be awesome!"

I wouldn't blame any of them if they smacked me in the face now

You could have made this so much more simple, here I'll show you.

I think this is a perfect time to state some fanboy facts:

OMG anyone who doesn't agree with me is a fanboi! So since I have nothing better to do I'm gonna make fun of anyone who doesn't agree with me and twist people's words to make them sound stupid!!
Jesus, I've seen so many of these over exaggerated posts to last me a bloody lifetime. People are going to like this game, hate this game, hope it gets better and maybe hope it will go away. Let them think the way they want to think and either be rewarded and/or disappointed due to it. We don't need people assuming that others think in a specific way, and then make jokes about it. How does your post help this game evolve in any way other than showing you have too much time on your hands so you use it in SUCH a constructive way?

In reference to the OP's comment... as others have said it is only the reflection of one server. Also if you watch other FFXIV forums, I've seen quite a few people remaking their characters to shift over to more popular (fuller) servers to have people to do stuff with.

But on the other hand, are you really surprised? This game still needs a lot of work done to it, and while my LS does make it fun enough that I play and stick around it needs:

    -More content
-More variety on leves other than 'go kill x'
    -More gear choices
    -More gear colors
-Market Wards needs to be fixed or find a better way
    -More mob diversity
    -More content period
-Made the towns outside the cities actually worth going to and useful
-More 'endgame' content... or at least 45+ content considering that the level cap will probably raise if they get this game going.
-Transportation (what the hell are those platforms out in the middle of no where used for?)
-Linkshell admin options (so we can actually add/kick people without them standing on top of us)
-More story lines that are in depth
-More gil sinks (barber shop, etc)
    -etc etc etc

This game is in a process, and SE has a bit of work to do. Of course soon they are adding in dungeons, the new battle system, auto attack, advanced jobs etc... but we will have to see how that stuff is going to work. At the moment I'll see how it goes until they make it P2P because I really can't complain at the free aspect. I'll give my suggestions on what I feel needs fixing and go with it until they start charging. At that time I'll decide if I'm going to stay.

To the people on the fence about both XI and XIV, if you play XI while waiting for XIV to not be crappy, you're actually supporting SE as a whole. Thus innevitably helping XIV in the long run.

Also, come to quezacoatl server, soo many friendly people

The reason i am not logging in that much is. I'm bored, and continuing to play hoping to have fun will only serve to further my burn out. Its been a long standing rule of mine that has served me well.

I look forward to the game getting better, but as far as i know that does not require me to log in and stare at my characters backside.

No content, technical bugs existing since release, mediocre gameplay, etc.

Instead of being transparent with the community, they lock threads regarding technical problems on SE's part and release a bunch of "targeting mode" patches... it would at least be nice to have a time window of when they might be able to really fix their engine, technical bugs, etc., rather than have to attribute the problems to general incompetence...

no i didn't mean that as a direct attack on you. all that was meant is that at the lower ranks you still have much to do and see so you do not see the lack of stuff to do once you rank up. once you get a capped class ala r50 you have 5 seriously weak nm's to do, crafting, gathering, or ranking another class. the notorious monsters were the only thing that was keeping the high level players in game until the yoshi nerf. once they became super easy there is barely any players left that are willing to take the time to do them. once you get rid of 1 of the only 4 things for high level people to do it makes the other 3 things get boring faster.

my intention was more along of stating that if you party with mostly new and low ranked players you may see a different reason for people leaving than i do. my statement was about why the high level people are leaving since that is mostly what i play with and talk to. we do talk to our friends and i did not mean that as an attack on you so i apologize if that's how you took it. it was more of my linkshells try to ask people that we have played with for months why they leave and that is the response we get.

Okay, cool. I can already see the edges and seams now, so I agree. I've been keeping tabs on development since Alpha, so even though I'm not banging my head against it all the time, I know there isn't a whole lot awaiting me once I get things to 50.

    So yeah, we're cool.
