I do have them, but I'll never use it. I'd rather use the potion cooldown for something more useful like the mega-potion of X stats.
If the healers are running OOM they're totally doing something wrong, probably over-healing.

on turn 4 I use an elixir to get a 3rd flare off on the rook/spider phase.
i do i always have elixirs on me pop when mp is low little hp recover doest hurt either, it been the deference from the team winning rather then wipingI was in Ultima Hard Mode, and the other healer wasn't that great with MP management. So, he kept bothering the Bard for Ballad, but the Bard was out of MP himself because of Ballad. So i told the Bard to use an Ether, then Battlevoice + Ballad, but he said he doesn't carry them. I told the other healer to pop an Ether then, he said he didn't carry them either.
I carry them, but only use them for emergency situations, but I was wondering if anyone else feels the game mechanics don't really push people to feel the need to carry meds.

As a SCH, I have some Ethers that I've never used. They're on a bar... I just can't be bothered to pop them. Maybe I could try remembering them next time I get Raised...
I keep em in my inventory and add them to my extra hotbar when doing Turn 2 Enrage. I don't always need them, but in a PUG, there's always a chance it could be the last morsel of MP that makes up for the ever so slight lack of DPS or over healing.
When all else fails, Heck the Bed.

If you need any kind of medicine on Ultima HM....that is not good....if you need to put up Ballad that much...Healers don't know how to play their job correctly and our over healing a bunch. I just don't know sometimes.

Playing since Beta phase 3

I use ethers all the time on BLM. Same for pots of INT.
Tell me, oh wise ones: do you know why healers go OOM on any fight (much less Ultima)? Many times it's because they have to resurrect players who do not know what they're doing. When you have a fight like Ultima with an enrage timer, you can't just whittle away at his HP with 2 DPS up like you can in Titan HM without bothering to raise the wasted space.

I always have meds and buff potions on me when doing dungeons... I have learnt to carry and utilize them ever since FFXI, and I defo see the benefits of having them 'just in case' the need arises, and you can't always rely on the support part of the party to always be 'on the ball'. In saying that, I've come across many newer players who just don't really know how and when to use them, they can see them as a waste of time and they use the excuse 'well isnt that what I have a WHM/SCH/BRD for!?!' (grrrr)
IMHO us experienced players just need to advise and encourage other players to be prepared, not just for themselves, but for the benefit of the whole party when doing dungeons, etc.
....Have these meds and buff potions as part of the backup to their job/class and be prepared just in case![]()
The primary use of MP restoratives I would think would be for BLM's Flare, simply because the way the spell works practically encourages their use.
If your healer is hard-pressed enough to need to use them (regardless of whose fault it is) you're probably in deep caca regardless.

Agree'd. But on the flipside, it is possible to have bad healers as well. Take myself for example, as I love running around CT shouting in /a about my rampant misuse of holy and AoE heals. Of course in real content where true effort is required, Raise is the usual cause of my oom.
You should have bought an authenticator.....
Your tears feed me....
