I get a spike here and there. The only place I lag constantly is the final boss from in the lvl 44ID Demzel Dungeon (name is probably wrong). For some reason the constant glowing of those crystals in that room just kill my nets.

Contracts are just that...a contract! So if one member of the contract, level3 in this case is not holding up what they promised a smooth connection free from lag(as im sure SE would have stated such things in the contract) then that means SE has the right to back out and use a better service. But alas until we have official words from SE it remains speculation and anger in the community...
And again, it's not between SE and Level3. SE doesn't pay Level3 to carry their data. They pay Ormuco, since that is their ISP, and even if they DID get another ISP, they could just end up getting routed through the same Level3 routers that are choking.Contracts are just that...a contract! I've been using WTFast free trial and it solved my issues. They added a new Montreal server recently as well so I'm guessing that has something to do with XIV and a sudden upsurge in people using WTFast to connect to it. After it ran out I tried the normal internet again and was hit with lag, constant error 90k's and freezing title screen, it was even making my internet connection disconnect and re connect which was very strange. Anyway after having all that crap come back after a trouble free 30 days; I decided to just pay the $5.99pm for it (£3.50 for me in the UK). As soon as I re booted through WTFast it was smooth sailing once more.
I know it sucks to have to pay extra to play something you're already paying for, but for me; a small additional payment each month is worth not having to worry about all the issues I was struggling with.
Ormuco isn't an ISP, its a Data Solutions Provider. The 2 are completely different.
Yes and they also provide the fiber connection to the data centers where the Game Servers are hosted. In either case, Ormuco is who SE directly has to deal with, if they went with someone else, they'd deal with them, not Level3.
Im not arguing your opinion on level 3, its yours.
I'm arguing that a datacenter for a major MMO isn't a one stop shop solution or unlimited. Since you believe SE is not a responsible party, please show me that in their contract with Ormuco.
You and I don't have the contract, therefore do not know the limitations and parties responsible outlined in that contract.
SE isn't 100% at fault here like people like to claim, it isn't like they can take over the said companys all they can do is call or send people to negotiate out what the problem is or try finding another provider if their is another one that better to begin with for that location of SE hub center. All im hearing is allot of IF and MAYBE from people not really any concrete info on either side if level3 and Ormuco is indeed the major players in this package lost for some people. I am positive SE is talking to them and at least attempt to solve the issue and from experience companys like level3 isn't the best to try working issue out with it a pain in anyone arse from start to finish.
i'm having connection issues this morning. keep getting 6001 lobby server when trying to log in
and 5006
Many ppl aren't tossing all the blame on SE. The problem with these forums is ignorance of posts towards those affected by the unaffected. You have the opposite as well, but sadly these forums by practice lean the other way.
The posts I refer to are the 100%:
- It's your ISP
- Change ISPs
- It is not SE's problem to address at all as it has nothing to do with them.
- It's out of SE's control.
Posts by the unaffected, that don't care read over 50 days of complaints and concerns, with no feedback from the developer. Which is part of the problem as it is their service being affected and their customers.
Granted SE could be silent on the matter due to contractual obligations and likely is trying to work on the matter at hand.
You can be a Network Engineer, Datacenter tech, highly knowledgeable on the Internet or a lawyer. In the end, we all do not know SE's contracts, agreements, limitations, and responsibilities with other companies, specifically the details.
