    Hi again ReplicaX. You are correct, it is impossible for us to know exactly the contract states as far as responsibility is concerned. No matter what, though, I can't imagine, even given these circumstances, that a company would completely drop their Data Solutions service and prepare a new one, especially given such a short amount of time. The overhead would be astronomical as opposed to letting them handle it at their time. No matter what, it is going to take awhile to fix, imo.

    ........But this is all just speculation on my part. I'd like to believe that major companies know how to handle these scenarios professionally, but I could be completely wrong. I only regurgitate what I already know from personal experience

    I know Cavaat, you don't need to explain that, at least to me.

    I think the main issue many folks just don't realize in general is that customers of this game only have 2 companies to complain to with connection issues.

    - Our ISPs
    - SE

    Trying to complain to Ormuco, Level 3 or another company in our routing path isn't really a good option. We aren't their direct clients.

    Our ISPs, through multiple calls and customers, tickets, and speaking with many different techs and levels provides some more clarity on their end. Even if the ISP tries to sidetrack us.

    Many of us have done this with our ISPs over the last 50 days.

    Many are starting to get impatient at this point, worst case just leaving the game. How can you blame some of them though? 50+ days with connection issues involving a product that requires reactionary dodging in endgame. The company behind the product not even giving a simple/plain statement they are aware of an issue involving connectivity.

From what I have seen from multiple post beside this one from the number of player's effect based on forums post it is a small % of player effect by this it could be the result of why there has been no responds. If it have been a large portion of the player base that was effected I am positive something would be announced without fully going in detail on server's or contract aspects. Granted that is my conjecture on my part also but if it is indeed a small % it would make sense they wouldn't post a responds right off the bat it be under investigation for the cause and would need information for example what the effected players can do is give basic information on ISP provider etc.

    This would be more helpful so SE can see the range or pattern and scope of the issue at hand instead of what we have known granted also these are the forums and we don't exactly have the most mature people here when it comes to subjects and a responds to player issue would be a nice gesture on SE part if they respond don't get me wrong. If anything another post or an old one that maybe I've seen before where dev's asked for your computer spec and isp provider could be more helpful instead of just a complain about it and say fix it for some poster's not all. Also I wouldn't put it under general forums and put it under tech support instead. I don't want to come off the wrong way not my intent when posting this.

    It's really hard to gauge #s or % affected when these forums aren't the entire player base. There are also other methods via SE tech support: phone, web, live chat web, and in game. There are also customers out there that just walk away and/or previous negative experiences with the company were the last straw.

    There has been a connectivity issue for many players since the character position update in instances change. There are already many threads in tech support on the issue, with customers giving as much info as they can. This is over the last 50+ days many reporting have been affected.

    You are not coming off the wrong way at all. There are many that post in the general forums out of frustration, some for more visibility and link to tech forums, or just general conversation to ask if its just them or others have the same problem.

    I can agree with this it actual is hard to gauge # or % even with phone, web, live chat etc. still even after saying that it's also a far leap to say a massive amount of people with this type of issue is correct either. There is no way to correctly gauge this as you've stated all we can do as customers depending on your stance with SE is to wait and see and provide what we can on ISP provider etc to maybe help.

    They also could find a fix to this issue for a certain group of people, but then it could inadvertently effect another group after the fix it more complex matter then other people might assume it to be. I wish there was a quick fix to this matter to where people having this issue goes away in a timely manner for those effect can agree also it can affect the game longevity if they do lose to many customer because of it.

    I have posted on every lag related thread I have come across and have still not heated a response from a dev so I created this one to again just hope that SE is listening. Your guys have given some solid feedback and I appreciate that. Bottom line is that lag is a problem and no response has been given and as such fingers start to point.

    If SE wanted to be proper about this whole mess they should give us a discount to WTFast with our paid FF14 sub. At least until the issue is fixed. It would benifit both companys imo and ease the minds of the players.

    Correct, in a different thread I talked about how changing the polling rate / tick rate of a server is more complex than a simple command. Increasing it requires more processing from the server but also more bandwidth between the server and client.

    This was brought up because before SE increased player positional polling in instances. Many ppl going through Level 3's backbone had zero connection issues. After the polling increase, those players started having connections issues. I believe Yoshida also talked about how they couldn't do this in non-instance areas because the processing demand would overload the servers in their current state.

    This is by no means pointing out that the polling rate change is indeed the issue as there were other changes in that maintenance. The timing of it does make it suspect to a customer, however we can't confirm this.

    This is an example of trying to fine tuning and balance a not so simple problem as the change did help some unknown # or % of players as well as possibly affected others in a negative way.
