Ya, but at least you could be more impartial imo. I mean, you did say this:
That doesn't sound very objective.
And I also don't think every time someone brings up ways to improve the game in general that they met with the sentiments you state. The well thought out suggestions that don't mention SE employees getting cancer are usually met with several thumbs up and little animosity.
People have preconceptions about others opinions based on one or two words they use. This thread is proof of that....or it least it was until I cleaned it up.
I don't know what's worse. What we currently have here in FF14, or raiding SoO in WoW for another half a year or longer. :L
Please, this has been a good discussion thread so far, let's all try to keep it that way![]()
Everyone thought paid retainers and fantasia would be the end of it.
You were warned.
Cash shop in, TrystWildkey out.
This so much. People complain about how fast they run out of content in this game, while in other games its the same story, and you have to wait even longer for new content. we have new stuff coming in the next month or so, and had new content added less than 2 months ago, the only reason people dont recodnise that is due to technical problems we got content 3 before content 2. I have a strong feeling from now on there will be much progression in harder content.
If this game were run by blizzard, we wouldnt even be able to acces turn 5 yet, and t4 would have just been unlocked.
The game IS boring to me and to a good majority of other people.
I have decided to keep playing because I want to cap Bard, Pld, Drg, and I want to get the gear from the primal ex bosses. Out side of that, I dont care about chocobo's and I easily fall asleep doing CT and leveling crafts and jobs. If the game was more exciting it wouldn't be a chore to level these jobs, but at the moment it is because everyone has stopped playing so it takes longer to exp fates and to just que into lower level duty dungeons.
FFXIV ARR is not WoW clone it's Final Fantasy with MMORPG elements added. Most people don't know the difference between Vertical and Horizontal progression
- Vertical progression is based on gear level and player level.
- Horizontal progression is based on adding abilities, attributes and skill points to augment your abilities and character stats.
Both types of progression by themselves have draw backs vertical progressions ends up becoming all about gear and horizontal progression becomes about grinding out skill points and is hard to balance in MMORPG's
Square stated that they would add the ability to change the effects of abilities in the 1st expansion so that should answer questions regarding horizontal progression.
You lost any sway with your argument when you made this comment. You don't choose to feel the game is boring/lacking content. Most people don't find leveling every single class to 50 fun. Or leveling a chocobo fun.
These are the assumptions I find extremely bias. The game IS boring to me and to a good majority of other people.

"boring to a majority of people"
"everyone has stopped playing"
These are statements you cannot possibly back up with facts. I respect your opinion, I'm not trying to sway you one way other the other (only my friend), but this thread will not go off topic like it once did. These statements are borderline derailing, but I don't believe it was said with any ill intent.

For that you have my respect and thanks for contributing. However:
This is again dangerously close to becoming off topic. Although the precedent for conversational direction is loose at best, it is there. Please try to discuss the problem in a more relevant way considering the subject matter.
I've went off topic a little as well. Human nature sometimes lol. I apologize, I'll try harder to inject more direction when time allows.
Thank you in advance, poo
