Even though I try to do this with my FC currently. If they need a last minute replacement for Coil, well, please tell me how I could help them? I'm already in a static that does a 1-5 1 hour clear but due to the lockouts(and the lockouts of lockouts because this game heard you like lockouts)I can't use any of my other level 50 classes that are geared enough to help them. Why were we able to level multiple jobs on one character, if we can't even gear up them to their full potential?
Well, when you either:
a) Pay to power level your character...
or
b) Are a legacy player...
or
c) Only raid...
...you are going to be bored.
1 word: casual.
Thats what this game has been all about.
If your a hardcore player or just happens to play the game for ALOT of hours everyday then you will run thru the games content faster then it can be generated.
But making this topic for the 12839102th time wont speed up content making and if you have nothing to do then quit, find something else to do and comeback later when the game have something for you to do.
Might want to check the Lodestone and actually read the post before you comment. I have all jobs maxed, and they all have gear well above iLVL 70 (3 are 90). I have all the crafting jobs maxed. I can 100% HQ any item in the game. I have all gathering jobs maxed. I'm rank 25 in PVP. I get my treasure map daily but sell it because the rewards for doing it suck. I've cleared Coil/CT/Primals every week. I Myth cap every week.
Point is, don't try to act like this game has so much endgame content that I'm simply unwilling to try. I've done every aspect of this game - except housing (lol) - and none of it is really all that interesting. The FFXIV reddit is god awful, with nothing but pictures of lalafells and Duty Finder stories. This forum itself is nothing but repeated complaints on the same game design issues because there is literally nothing else to talk about.
If you read more closely, he didn't specify helping other people with Coil. He said you might forget about Coil because you're having so much fun helping others with other endgame content, which is not JUST Coil. On any given day, check PF to see people needing help with Chimera, Hydra, primal hard modes for relic, etc. Jump in and help out fresh 50s once in a while and break up your normal routine.
I logged in to do my daily treasure map where I encountered this amazing quest.
The SQEX version: I ran to said position waiting to achieve my epic loots, but suddenly these ferocious wolves attacked me. They looked grueling, like we were about to enter a battle of sudden death. I drew my lance, ready to trade blows with the beasts. The wolves sprung towards me, the battle to begin. After an epic encounter I captured the spoils of a long fought battle, head held high from immense satisfaction.
What really happened: I went to some spot on the map, and murdered some wolves in 10 seconds. They offered no challenge, fun, or excitement.
Can't wait to do it again tomorrow, and log off again.
For what it's worth I agree with your opening post but I doubt you'll change hearts and minds on the forums. Granted, that's true with most forum discussions, rarely are people able to see another side of the discussion let alone re-evaluate their own positions.
As always you're left with the choice of raising the issues that concern you, presumably because you care about the game's longevity and want it to succeed, and facing a barrage of various forms of, "If you don't like it clear off!", which is irony because the people who often care the most are the ones who raise concerns, or just slinking off and sitting silently, hopefully somewhere.
Congratulations, you have beaten the game.Might want to check the Lodestone and actually read the post before you comment. I have all jobs maxed, and they all have gear well above iLVL 70 (3 are 90). *Throws some confetti*
Now what? What do you want? Do you want us to point the obvious by saying that FFXIV is a good and competent MMORPG but not a stellar one which can solve all of the first world problems? Do you want us to tell you that you played a lot, had some enjoyment and that it's what video games are for? Do you want to tell us that ARR was 2.0 and we are currently in 2.1, meaning that only one piece of extra content was added to the game?
Yes, you wan run out of "interesting" things to do in a MMORPG. Who knew? What a shocking news!
No, complaining over and over again won't make content magically appears, it won't make FFXIV the best Final Fantasy ever nor the best MMO.
Yet, even if my post could easily be a really good application example for taking a job as Captain Ovbious sidekick, a lot of people seems to think that MMORPG have to deliver an infinity of content after two weeks.
So, has my first post in this thread was trying to show you is: nobody cares if you're bored. Just unsub and come back for the next expansion pack or whatever. You can even move on with your life and get in the next MMO on the market. Woohoo, so much freedom.
