Guilds and housing are NOT connected in any way. Free Company is what is needed for a Free Company housing, guilds are for classes or for a general place to adventures to start the game. This isn't WoW or some other mess, learn the terminology, it's not that hard.

This is a MMORPG and it's not supposed to be EXCITING all the time, it's supposed to be mostly working LONG-TERM towards goals, not just spamming new endgame content until you're bored. If you want to be excited instead of building your character, then place some action game that takes 5-10 hours to complete. Also, have you heard of Achievements? I doubt you even have 5% of them done, get your Achievements to 100% and then come back here and complain. So you have PLENTY to do. If none of that is what you want to keep busy with, then this game might not be for you. The rest of us have plenty to do and enough that if we get bored with one thing, we can do something else. This is an online RPG, you are not meant to rush through the content and try to finish it all quickly, instead use this little word called VARIETY or you will become a bored whiny forum poster. It just really doesn't sound like you understand the gigantic differences between a regular game and a MMORPG, this is supposed to be LONG TERM, as in years of building your character, not just 1 week of doing stuff, 3~ months of boredom and then new content for 1 week, followed by boredom until the next content. You are clearly going about this the wrong way (yes it IS the wrong way, cause I'm nowhere near as bored as you, in fact, I'm on the game all day long and I still have more to do than I could possibly finish for months to come, hell even years and that's with current content.) Wanna know the trick? Stop Doing Same Thing Over and Over, we are humans, evolution has designed us to GET BORED if we constantly do the same thing.

You just seem like those that barely paid attention to the lore and story and probably just spammed the Talk button when doing the sidequests instead of reading and learning about the gaming world that you are going to live in for years. Get invested or give up, that's the best advice you're gonna get for playing a MULTI-YEAR LONG-TERM online RPG.

Might want to check the Lodestone and actually read the post before you comment. I have all jobs maxed, and they all have gear well above iLVL 70 (3 are 90). I have all the crafting jobs maxed. I can 100% HQ any item in the game. I have all gathering jobs maxed. I'm rank 25 in PVP. I get my treasure map daily but sell it because the rewards for doing it suck. I've cleared Coil/CT/Primals every week. I Myth cap every week.

Point is, don't try to act like this game has so much endgame content that I'm simply unwilling to try. I've done every aspect of this game - except housing (lol) - and none of it is really all that interesting. The FFXIV reddit is god awful, with nothing but pictures of lalafells and Duty Finder stories. This forum itself is nothing but repeated complaints on the same game design issues because there is literally nothing else to talk about.

For what it's worth I agree with your opening post but I doubt you'll change hearts and minds on the forums. Granted, that's true with most forum discussions, rarely are people able to see another side of the discussion let alone re-evaluate their own positions.

As always you're left with the choice of raising the issues that concern you, presumably because you care about the game's longevity and want it to succeed, and facing a barrage of various forms of, "If you don't like it clear off!", which is irony because the people who often care the most are the ones who raise concerns, or just slinking off and sitting silently, hopefully somewhere.

Now what? What do you want? Do you want us to point the obvious by saying that FFXIV is a good and competent MMORPG but not a stellar one which can solve all of the first world problems? Do you want us to tell you that you played a lot, had some enjoyment and that it's what video games are for? Do you want to tell us that ARR was 2.0 and we are currently in 2.1, meaning that only one piece of extra content was added to the game?

I've been playing this game since it was in beta stage last year . Took my time with it and everything. Yet SE have them self to blame for everything that is happening now. The fact that Yoshi P got his dev time to play WOW and not even FFXI was a bad idea in its self we have a WOW plus a few other MMORPG clone add the title ff to it and no one will no difference thats what they want u to think lol. If I was SE i would have 3 people to read through the comments see which complaints come up the most which new ideas seem to pop up a lot and bang there you go improve and fix what you can.
