Sadly the same fight in 2.0 would be quite easy.. most of what made the fight hard in 1.0 had to do with game limitations of the time (oh you want to blow up that meteor right in front of your face.. {That's too bad.})All we need is "The Minstrel's Ballad: Nael Deus Darnus"
Allow us to fight the original Darnus HM fight with a recreated arena for the new engine. Leave his original battle mechanics in place, not a script fight. Let his HP restore to 100% half way through again. Pls Yoshi, Pls.
Sorry if you took it as a offense but most comments like this are directed to the OP unless it is stated or the comment is quoting someone.
Also, this topic is about Nael and his inevitable return as a illusion, ghost, manifestation of Aether, or whatever SE has planned for his return Lore Wise into the story of FF14ARR.
I'm still catering towards a manifestation of Aether until SE gives us the real answer in Coil Storyline probably at T9 or higher.
(Notice that in T6-9 we are actually going up to the top of this new set of Coils compared to T1-5 where we are going down.)

I'd bet on a simple resurrection spell from Bahamut on Nael and Louisoix that got mind controlled so they can free him.Sory if you took it as a offense but most comments like this are directed to the OP unless it is stated or the comment is quoting someone.

I have no idea why you're being so defensive, and I'm taking no offence to anything. Seems a little odd to me but I'll leave the discussion here
To be specific, Bahamut was the most powerful of the Terrestrial Avatars - those born of Vana'diel itself. He and the other 4 had entered a pact with the Kuluu in their civil war with the Zilart and be brought down the Celestial Capital Al'Taieu under the sea while also simultaneously transporting it (along with the 5th mother crystal) into another dimension rendering it pretty much inaccessible to all (seemingly) and turning all the remaining zilart in the capital to Qasi spirits.
He doesn't so much hate mankind as he fears the influence of the Emptiness and a possible revival of Promathia. The Zilart, under king Eald'narch were trying to restore Vana'diel to its original state, devoid of emptiness which would allow the Celestial Avatars to once again roam free, as well as the Goddess herself and restore the Whisper of Souls (their psychic link with one another that the Kuluu had lost due to the influence of Emptiness). Only the Zilart and the Gods can survive in Vana'diel's true form so naturally Bahamut & the others were having none of that.
Who knows what his story is in XIV? All we know is that he's utterly f'ing massive (as we can clearly see in Turn 1 looking at just 1 of his wings) and that he's quite likely the reason the Allagan race died out. Whether they died trying to save the world from him or if they simply did something stupid to incur his wrath remains to be seen. I wholly expect turn 10 to be an alliance raid against him as I just can't see a standard 8 man party taking down THE Elder primal. Nael was only given a fraction of his power and was a damned hard fight (I hope he's stronger this time and they keep some element of randomness to him unlike existing boss battles).
I hope they do keep some random actions in the fight but that just wishful thinking due to mechanics in this game is all organized in a pattern.
If they do make it random some how they will need to adjust some cooldowns for Nael so he doesn't end up spamming most of his strongest attacks over and over again.
Bahamut in XI was just selfish. He knew that if paradise got restored, he would be just a mere animal, devoid of his power in Vanadiel.
Also I think Bahamut in IX was bad? Although he was just a mere summon.
BTW I dont think we will fight Bahamut in XIV, atleast in his current form. I mean, we are smaller than his fingernail, how in the fuck can you fight that in your screen?
Don't know until they add Cloud of Darkness. They already planned for Cloud of Darkness to be as big as Bahamut when we fight her.
Cloud of Darkness will probably be the first Super Size boss fights in FF14 and from there SE will probably work out how to handle future Super Size Boss fights like Bahamut.
