Not to mention in 1.0 people where shouting for a Marketboard style set up instead of looking on every retainer..Yep, Just as Ayane stated here, it was like that in 1.0. Only, most people used their "Player shops" as storage and had items in there for 9 all the way across. Sometimes they put up items to show off the fact that they had it, most of the time it was for storage. Other times it was just stuff they were trying to get rid of.
In my book, it wasn't anything to really call home about. I, personally, wasted scores of minutes looking through people's shops whenever they were standing around to see if I could get a good 'deal'. Lol. In all of 1.0, I never found that. All-in-all, I'd rather stick with the market boards.
Oh the irony XD
Bigger irony is that we had it already in 1.23 with the search corner and with keeping the retainer rooms.
Only problem was that although there was the possibility to buy in each city from each city market, the search corners for each city market were in 3 separate rooms instead of be done from a single NPC.
And the limit how many retainers can be in a retainer room.
Maybe at the start of 1.0No, *you* didn't enjoy it. Other people preferred it. As with XI, I prefer selling my stuff wherever and whenever I choose an not having to even go to a town. Sure I had a dedicated stock in 1.0 and sold lots, but I did most of my sales from my personal shop, not the old market wards.
At the end, selling with retainer was faster. The people started to expect that there is nothing to buy in a bazaar when they say one with the bazaar icon. Because the majority used it as an extended inventory place with prices like 999.999.999 for each item in it.
And there were also the taxes
10% tax if you sell with the bazaar
5% tax if you sell in the market wards
2% tax if you sell in the right market ward room
