Don't know why people are still defending SE and FFXIV when other MMO are brought up.
Point of the matter, whatever "lag" happens in those "other" games, it's not game breaking. If anything, it's trivial and when it happens, I just laugh as it's that rare and funny when it happens.

In FFXIV, you lag all the time. Doesn't matter how awesome your connection is. You have internal delays/positioning check points and other nonsense going on, on top of the animation delays (Hi, my name is Hallowed Ground, you're still dying to that spell, Lol!) and random lag spikes/poor connections. And if you're a Verizion user, forget it, just stop right there.

Doesn't matter if you complete content/are able to dodge stuff, etc. I am capable of doing so no problem. But it is way more than obvious that this game has some major issues (Thus this massive thread).
If you can simply open your eyes and see the glaring issue, you'll see that all of these issues being resolved/addressed, would only make the game better and would not harm you nor the game at all.

However, the fact that Yoshida is so hell bent on using these issues as an excuse for "difficulty" and "balance", I doubt we'll see much addressed/resolved any time soon.
Not unless the bunch of you stop praising this nonsense and start bringing this issue to his attention more often, as we all should.

Lag sucks, and it's never a simple problem to fix. And simply no MMO is immune to it.

This is a gross generalization of what people are complaining about in FF14. The 'serious' discussion here is not about whether there is lag per se - it is the *type* of lag that impacts on gameplay in FF14. In wow, when there is lag, the player loses control over their toons (i.e., they can't move it or cast anything) and then dc's. Visual cues are still *accurate*.

In FF14, players see their toons move but it actually isn't moving type of lag. This type of lag is more serious because it makes visual cues for handling boss mechanics or casting/movement unreliable. This becomes a problem when you have 1-shot dodge mechanics - it has to be 100% reliable. How so? You won't know whether you have moved (even though visually you have) or not until you have DIED.

Getping zapper and shut up lol. The fact that pingzapper and WTFast programs ACTUALLY work and make the lag almost 0 is proof enough for me that the problem is not really with SE but with the way that the Internet Providers are routing the packets to the datacenters. Try them out, they all have free trials and thencome back here and complain... I bet you wont.

So then explain to me why more people have issues after one of their updates or hot fixes then if it's not on SEs end. Reinheart is a perfect example. His issue with latency/lag was gone, but it came back after the latest hotfix and none of his hardware was changed, so explain how this happens then if it's not an issue with the servers. Each and every update or hotfix you'll notice more/other people come on these very forums and complain about lag/latency.

The video's dont lie, some of them are so far away from the AOE its ridiculous, Ive also noticed lately that when clicking on skills/spells, the button doesn't actually activate.

I find myself constantly clicking the skill instead of 1 clicking it.

To the guy from the UK who 'doesn't get a single point of damage Vs Titan' - I'm from the UK and have similar experiences to these videos, just because you learned his pattern to dodge doesnt make it right.

That's not relying on impulse or instinct, that's learning every move beforehand, its simply not the same.

Bought the game and never subbed because of this... I was hoping it was fixed by now so I can get back to playing.

I'll check again in a few months... but I kinda fear that I won't be back until it goes F2P.
