See I disliked it for the same reason. I didn't like that I had trade with a female player to complete the quest. That's not my thing.I liked this one compared to most of the others, *because* of the player interaction. Instead of waiting on the RNG gods to allow us to continue we can, heaven forbid, socialize. Or just use the Market Board, I guess. And I, for one, look forward to the continued, uh, misadventures of Yellow Moon. That's not the only quest she's involved in. :P
Though I do wish they'd be kinda longer. Give out the option to get the rewards right away for people who just want the costumes. And then continue it after with optional stuff or something.
I miss ffxi events a lot it was more interesting and creative than what we have right now.
I like this event. No fates, and amusing side story (*approaches weaver's guild for fourth time* dear god, look at all the bodies). Yeah, WoW's events are more fleshed out, but it's had years more to build it up. I remember when Beerfest was just a tent and a keg outside the dwarf/tauren city. No quests, no tokens, no mounts, no jackalopes.
Give the game 4 years. If seasonal events aren't a bit more intricate by then, then you can whine.

The only improvement on events I want is for there to be lv 50 versions. I mean. Here we are fighting Shantoto and it has to be at such a low level I can't use most of my skills. I understand you want low level versions for newer players, but why do you have to constantly make them so low level in it's entirety? A level 50 fate tweaked to be a bit more difficult would have been loads of fun. This low-level only stuff needs to stop.
How so? Other than fates as a new gameplay device the events are very similar in execution and storytelling. You talk to a few npcs. Gather a few items. Maybe you swap some items with other players (easter eggs anyone). Either way it's the same type of content we saw in XI.
I agree with OP 100% even though people are just going to say that holiday's aren't difficult or engaging in real life so obviously they shouldn't be in a video game!!!!!111
Don't you mean rape people on the AH for colored eggs? How so? Other than fates as a new gameplay device the events are very similar in execution and storytelling. You talk to a few npcs. Gather a few items. Maybe you swap some items with other players (easter eggs anyone). Either way it's the same type of content we saw in XI.
It's really crazy for me to see WoW being used as a positive example. I think each game's holiday events have about as much story content, however WoW puts a few mounts and pets behind a daily dungeon and then some other toys and pets behind a daily quest grind. My Valentine experience in WoW basically was this
Do Daily Dungeon for Mount Chance(2 or 3 years and I never got it)
Do Daily Quest for Marks to get achievement pet or whatever else
Repeat until event is over, and you can apply this to basically most of the events in WoW
Certainly those achievements lead you around having you do different things, but I fail to see the huge benefit in it. It was only incentived via a gigantic meta achievement which granted you an at the time generally inaccessible mount speed buff. In the end I'm pretty happy to have one and done style holiday events, everyone might not agree but I definitely prefer my game content to not be timed. I don't want some exclusive holiday thing that requires me to run dungeons daily for a week.
They are just there for a little fun... Getting a little ahead of ourselves. I'm happy its not some long and hard quest.
