    Some more feedback...

I'm not gonna rant or rage about the game, its just some honest feedback because I'm quitting. I realize no single person's opinion is going to make this game even more successful but giving mine still can't hurt.

Here's my top 3 problems with the game starting from most to least important:

-Lack of open world content. I cannot stress this one enough. Duty finder is a neat idea and it works well for some raids but you have all these nice looking zones that are already created with no rare monsters for hunting/looting, no unique story quest battles that require grouping with a few people. There's virtually no reason to explore in this game in any of the zones you've created once you hit 50 because everything you want to do uses the duty finder. Open world content is the most vital factor of an MMORPG.

-Reaching level cap in this game is way to fast and that's why you guys had to put in "lockouts" and caps on myths. I remember when most of the fun in mmorpgs was grouping up, socializing, and working towards capping. You can get a job to 50 in this game within 1-3days if you grind well enough. I figured SE would have learned this was a problem with the release of abyssea in ffxi but I guess not.

-Story grinding. I call it grinding because that's exactly what it feels like. Grinding for the next actual part of the story you care about. All these in-between quests that contribute nothing to it. Then when you get to an actual story quest/mission that is important and fun, its super EZ. I'm of the opinion that story quests should have been the hardest and most interesting quests since they are the core of the game.

One final note. I was unable to play with my friends because the Legacy server players are locked from playing on newer servers. I offered to transfer with 0 gil and no items. This still was never made available. Not being able to play with your friends causes the fun factor to suffer severely. Having to create an all new character when we already enjoy and love our current one is unacceptable.

That's about all I got. I like the game but I'm just tired of feeling like I'm playing this to cap every week. I'll probably end up coming back after a significant amount of new content gets released.

Although it's unfortunate you want to quit based on these points, I'm going to give some counterpoint to your first arguement:

Actually, there is open-world content - there's FATEs, there's levequests, there's the Hunting Log. Like it or not, old-school FFXI-style exp parties and NM hunting are dead, because they were too easily abused and exploited by players and RMT alike. SE shouldn't have to give some reward just to get players to do things - the whole point of this game is fun, not treating the game's wider world like a glorified carnival.

Really, I don't see why you should need a reason to go out and explore the world - often I'll just grab my Legacy chocobo or Magitek armour and ride around admiring the sheer detail of the zones. If I see a FATE, often I'll jump in and do it, even as level 50 - I don't care about any reward from it, I just do it because I find it fun.

You have to find your own sense of enjoyment in this game, all SE has done is give you the tools and then left you to take it from there. If you can't find enjoyment from this game because of this, then maybe this game isn't for you I'm sorry to say.
