it only said minimum 24h...so I assume its only 1 day then cause this is my first offenceIt's set like that because they investigate to see if you have any other previous ban records (including forums) and such. If you don't, you get a full time sent to your email (which is usually 1 - 3 days) or if you've repeatedly been banned, it can go for a week - perma.
Much like forum bans are minimum of x hours, then goes to 10 days, then 2 weeks, then perma.
This thread offends me greatly, reported!
I always found this kind of thing pathetic. Like people in WoW who say "reported for reporting". Not only is it not productive, it then adds work to overworked GMs who also need to fix actual problems. If you are not reporting actual things that cause issues, you have zero reason to complain when it takes a long time to get a GM to help you when you really need one. Boy who cried wolf anyone?
OP, Doesn't matter if you didn't find it worth reporting, someone did, and the GM agreed that you broke the rules. Some people think botting doesn't affect anyone, and shouldn't be ban worthy, but most and the gms agree it's worth a ban. If you didn't actually do anything bad, you wouldn't have gotten banned from just being reported. Learn from it, don't do it again.
Touchy people are touchy, people wonder why the world is completely stupid.
this game is catered towards carebears.
I hope this is sarcasm. Anyone remember witch burnings? Kind of the same thing.
I think you misunderstand the sentiments behind "reported for reporting." Few--if anyone--are actually reporting anything. They are making fun of the nanny state syndrome sweeping the nation. On top of that, most tickets sent to GMs are frivolous, including the "I'm offended, please punish that guy" tickets. So, if someone did send a complaint about a frivolous thing and it overworked the system, perhaps the system shouldn't cater to frivolous claims.I always found this kind of thing pathetic. BESIDES: The game is rated Teen. It advertises many devious behaviors included by developers, but then punishes players who offend other players with their actions. I got a warning for using a /sit emote and cited as harassing, which made no sense. But, someone was offended, and SE decided to punish me to show me who's boss by using an unrelated TOU that was violated when my action was unspecified in their TOU.
Point is, world needs a hug, and governments (GMs are a form of government if you think about it) are quick to dish out. It's ridiculous, but that's how the world works. Now when I log in, all I do is stand there so as not to offend anyone.
(That's sarcasm by the way)
