Force PS3 players to migrate over to PS4 and then drop support for it

OP is over the top, but I hope they do phase it out so the restrictions can be lifted. Bear in mind things like they couldn't handle Focus Target until they turned off a UI element whilst it is in use. I reckon 2016 would be a good target, anyone who doesn't get a PS4 2 years after launch will never upgrade unless their console explodes and they couldn't afford to put by £3 a week.

I'm curious as to why people use projectors and 50 inch screens and stuff for the PS3 version (And why they can afford a shiny TV but not a half decent PC). I'd hate that even at 1080 on my PC.

I made sure to get a smaller though high quality (23inch) 1080 screen because pixel pitch is important to me. o-o

Half my friends who are playing this on the PS3 are also Mac users, so they're jumping to PC gaming pretty much never.

That's their loss.

It's my loss however if I can no longer play with them so continued PS3 support, please.

The people that are in denial are PS3 users that never played the PC version. I've have both and the PS3 version is nearly unplayable after you've played the PC version imo.

Not every country is the US. Not everyone can just say "yeah, I'm gonna upgrade my hardware right now."

Only if the PS4 does really well in Japan and globally too but mostly over there, considering every PS3 version owner gets a free PS4 upgrade it shouldn't be a problem, even then it probably won't happen until at least a good 3 years after launch. People keep saying XI still has PS2 support but this game has shown a completely different direction and people love distancing themselves from XI so it's not that unlikely to happen.

The people auto assume everyone is running ARR in gaming pcs like a gtx780 with a Intel i7 Cpu.

The japanase players Hate with passion play on PC.

Most NA/EUR Average users are playing on Laptops/Notebooks with integrated graphic cards and Ps3.

If we suddenly CUT the service for ps3 users and Low end game machines. The game will be lossing 70% the our players base.

Even if im playing in a High end Pc and im pissed with the Console/Low end pcs limitations, i understand the Pc "enthusiasts" are not "Enough" for keep this game alive.

I promise you most decent rigs cost more than a PS3 these days. PS3 version is far from unplayable and if they phase out the PS3 the game won't magically change because they're still going to develop with the lowest common demoninator in mind - Which isn't the PS3, unless someone can make a list of every game on the PS3 that:

1. Lacks collision detection between characters (PC/NPC)
2. Lacks physics in certain regards.
3. All have low res textures when zoomed in.
4. Separates upper/lower body movement that can glitch out quite easily.

Remember: FFXI actually has collision detection and it's a 2001 PS2 game, so a lot of stuff are design choices and not necessarily due to "limitations".

I think they'll drop PS3 support eventually, but definitely not for at least another expansion pack or two.

The game definitely runs like ass on PS3 and it's undeniably holding back the game design in some ways, but they're not gonna cut support until PS4 has achieved much higher market penetration. Wouldn't expect it for at least 4 years at the minimum, most likely longer.

while it doesn't exactly take a high end computer to run this(I spent $500 on mine and everything is on high, and my video card is 6 years old), but what reason do they have for dropping ps3 support? if people wanna play with crappy frame rate then let them.

I've had none of these issues that you speak of on my ps3. Only longer loading times and slower rendering. It hasn't kept me from raiding or anything. OP is silly.
