Focalization increase Elemental Resistance, meaning Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Ice. So far with +15 resistance from my racial base I seem to take about 200 DMG less from a Garuda Enkindle which would have critted me for 1.1k. Do note that this doesn't amplify or reduce unaspected damage either.
