Yeap pretty much focalization only reduces the following DMG:
Fire 1-3
Thunder 1-3
Blizzard 1-3
Stone 1-2
Fluid Aura
Flare
Freeze
Garuda -Egi's attacks/Enkindle
Ifrit -Egi's Enkindle
Titan -Egi's Enkindle

Unaffected are:
Windbite
Scathe
Holy
Ruin 1-2
Miasma 1-2
Bio 1-2
Energy Drain
Fester

Dont Forget Aero 1-2, but I get the idea.

Cleft protect does nothing in pvp - except maybe serve as a dispel shield ; Only morale does reduce / increase player dmg
Protect boosts stats from your gear (Mdef/Pdef) - which have 0 effect in pvp. 0* protect is still 0
This has been confirmed countless times and by blue posts

I'm not trying to dispute this, and actually agree. I was just wondering if you could post a link to where this has been tested? I've been trying to find it myself but haven't been having any luck. My bro has had a few people complain about his lack of protect casting, and just trying to verify things. Thanks man.

Liadra, a friend of mine, does pretty close to what you do. Hes not in r30 gear though, and I usually have to drag him into PvP. There's also Cochise.

There's also this tank called Cochise or something, I'm 0-20 with him. He also literally kills me in 2 seconds. Sleeping, purifying, attuning doesn't mean crap to him.

on the thread topic tho.....you just run and heal. like any normal match. time his burst with your attune and you will be fine. Sometimes he gets me, sometimes I run and live. just went 3-0 against him before servers went down.

He has potential, but he needs work on his target selection. Had an easy victory turn to a close match because he felt like training the heals after sleeps went out (before a purify was burnt). We still won, but just barely... we ended up all dead, with him soloing the PLD to end the match. Also needs to pickup swiftcast+stoneskin.
