lol, slow down man. You expect a lot from a company who, thusfar, hasn't proven to have the best coding prowess in the gaming industry.Baybay said:
Hopefully this means no melee weapon, but some "Legolas-like" fightting style! After all this game has some major references to lord of the rings...having ARCs using bows as bats and arrows as dagger during close combat would be just another one! ^^ I'd rather a knockback + pullback action tho...like you putting the foot at monsters' belly and at same time knock it back and jump ARCs back to force the rangedd distance.
Excuse me? Beating the mobs with a bow isn't even close to need programming...its just an melee range animation (which was said to be otw already)...and an action that moves you and the mob back isn't also THAT hard. What i said was animation-wise in both cases. I don't see anything that would require insane programming in my post...or maybe you quoted the wrong post... ^^:
No, I quoted the correct post. You're stating you'd like to see Square Enix code into the game animations/whatever to show this concept of yours. What you don't seem to realize, is.... you're dealing with Square Enix. A company who can't even provide the ability to alt+tab, let alone a myriad amount of other basic functionalities. Don't worry, I'm not knocking your idea, I agree, it would be cool... But you're shooting for the stars when the company can't get out of the planet's atmosphere.Excuse me? Well, that's only partially true. Both Squaresoft and Enix had ace cards in there...was just a tremendous misfortune this FF receiving such uncreative, close-minded pile of amateur devs that probably never did anything good outside FFXI.No, I quoted the correct post. I do trust that, just like they did in FFXI, we will have continuous rotation at dev team and that next one will be a good one! But i also believe that this all was decided before Tanaka team leave...the poll, the forums...all just to turn PR a bit better...nothing from this had impact to the battle, armory or job changes/additions that will come. This also explain why the polls' questions were so malicious...Yoshida asked only what he was sure about the answer...its was just to trick the playerbase and make them think they were who was deciding the stuff.
IMO, their long-term plan is:
FFXIV: Add job system, add job exclusive 2hr ability, add job exclusive WS system, remove AoE toggle, add EXP chain system, add Alliance system.
FFXI: Move billing system to FFXIV click and buy + Crysta system, move friendlist, handle manager and mail to POL site, remove POL viewer, remove for good EXP loss, increase party size to 8, lower the alliance number to 2 parties, add party bonus effect, change map zones to overlapping map server system.
...and, after that, they will merge FFXI to FFXIV.
But, not to say my entire post was off-topic, yeah i agree that its easier they just make ARCs start equipping daggers offhand so they can stab people in close range.
Off-hand daggers would be a cool addition. Anyone remember this gem though?
The guild’s teachings cover a variety of projectile weapons, down to the simplest throwing rock.
