About mounts - mainly Behemoth one

Would be kinda like turning the camera when your fighting a Dulahan in AK I'd imagine. With just one smn, it wouldn't be a big issue I think. Plus no one would expect the summon to be 100% the size of the primal. I honestly don't care that much. I just recall them saying something kinda along the lines of what you just did. And it seemed laughable to me they would create mounts as big as they claimed was too big for summons. That's all.

Yep, the game will suffer from "Zoo-Syndrome." A common disease in MMOs these days.

This is a word I coined back on EverQuest Online Adventures. I mean, I thought it was bad then, but it was nothing compared to what we have now. In EQOA they introduced were forms, like werewolf, weregator, etc. So not only did you have shamans and druids running around as animals, you then had weres running around. The main hub city of Freeport quickly became a town full of animals and that is where I saw the issue arising.

Then came WoW and good lord. Exotic animals galore!

I agree with TC, but I don't at the same time. I admit to liking new mounts and things. But I hate walking around and seeing a bajillion mounts everywhere as well. I think I would have been fine with various Chocobos and bardings TBH. But clearly this game will be enjoying zoo-syndrome. Which has it's ups and downs for me. Sometimes it just feels liek the devs can't think of things to do and just add mounts to keep people happy. Or something. I don't know. I'd rather get new gear and bardings then mounts.

How come you post on the forums and dont even play the game? I mean you didnt even sub past the free trial or even have enough playtime to give out how the game should be run... You almost got 4k forum posts.. I guess the real game is on here right?

No white glove minion (Didnt pay for first month)
No Magitek mount (Didnt reach end of 2.0)
No Grand Company mount (which means you never did any main story past lv20ish)

Eh? I play about an hour every day or so on my new character, slowly leveling my crafting and gathering jobs along my gladiator. I'm nearing level 30 with him. He's the one with all the 2.0 stuff.

I also have a 50 legacy I don't use anymore. I just keep him as my main here because posting restrictions based on level are dumb.

That aside, any concept of immersion is tossed aside in this game. This evident by the fact that according to the WHM job quest there is only ONE SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE WHM IN EORZEA!!. Yet, well...you know where this is going....

Well White Magic is used in a very similar way to the primals (user sucks aether from the world to use for his/her own). It\\'s one of the most dangerous forms of magic in the wrong hands, and it even caused the 6th Umbral Era when it was overused. Given the mentality of some of the players here, I would hope there wouldn\\'t be more than 1 special snowflake using it :P

Regarding the topic at hand, while I do agree having all these weird mounts kinda violates the FF universe, my biggest problem is how damn bulky some of these mounts are. It is incredibly annoying trying to interact with other players and having 3-4 people in the Magiteck Armor or Behemoth mount jumping all over you.

Personally the development time they spend into rigging our characters to ride whatever clawed and toothed beast we should have a powerfull respect for, should have been spent on allowing us to customize our chocobos with gear and other physical enhanchments.

But you know, GOTTA RIDE DAT GOOBUE GUYS!

That's exactly what I feel the problem is, they're giving too much fan service, while I hated the 1.0 storyline on how gimp, worthless and non important our character was, right now I feel that they put too much of the one and only one hero to us, same goes for mounts, If they had the chocobo system from xi with more depth like the companion system tied to it as it is right now but with more stuff to personalize and improve your chocobo performance would give the same joy to the fans than having tons of mounts and at the same time would give more dignity to the enemies in it and the brand.

I don't know about you but I don't feel behemoth so fearful after seeing lots of behemoths mounts...

I agree with you to an extent OP.

While I'm not really concerned about my immersion, I think having stuff like the Behemoth mount and Garuda EX mount is pretty tacky. They just look stupid and scream "cash shop" to me.

Meh.

How does the Garuda EX mount feel cash shopy? I can understand feeling that way about subscription mounts, but I like the idea of earning some vanity mounts/minions.
