Wrong. They are actively working on the new system.
Well, SE saying "by the end of summer" doesn't really mean much, considering they're notorious for delaying things.
I understand that sentiment and you're right, but saying it "isn't anywhere on the horizon" isn't any more accurate than saying patch 1.18 will be here 2 weeks from the mid/late June initial plan.
i wasn't talking about you personally taking up for the game, but that a game has to be compared side by side with other games. the fact that is was released in only half completed condition starts it behind the rest of those games and it has to work twice as fast to catch up. it's the opposite in the other games are widening the gap and not se closing it.On the mounts, the following items were posted in Producer Letter X:
-NEW-
Mount system (name tentative)
-NEW-
Examination of mount system (including chocobos)
-NEW-
Establishment of details for mount system
These are all expected to be done by the end of summer. Now that is not to say we will be GETTING mounts by then, just that we should have some concrete information and that it has been confirmed that the team is working on it. How is that "not on the horizon?" When I think of things that aren't on the horizon I think of things like the Arcanist, Mystic, Muskateer, and Fencer jobs that haven't ever been touched on by the Dev team and have no time line what so ever.
what i seen out of that letter was that they will examine a mount system and start assembling details on the system including a name by the end of summer. if you look back at your own quote it does not say implementation. they may discuss it and find out a direction on it before the end of summer, but i doubt they even begin working on it by then.
archanist if i am not mistaken was the gm that was showing up in horizon and inside uldah casting buffs on people. if this is the case it has a working model with gear and buffs so it has been touched and is alot closer to being added than chocobo's are to me.

There are working models of chocobo's too. NPC's ride them in cutscenes, and there are stationary ones all over the place.i wasn't talking about you personally taking up for the game, but that a game has to be compared side by side with other games. the fact that is was released in only half completed condition starts it behind the rest of those games and it has to work twice as fast to catch up. it's the opposite in the other games are widening the gap and not se closing it.

i'm sorry have you seen a person control one? no, that's what i call a working model. there's a difference between a cutscene where a npc rides one and actually having it used. yoshi stated himself he wanted to make chocobo's a major thing not just a mount so do not expect that until he comes up with more. remember that was the reason he put it on the back burner according to him.

It seems like we are discussing two different points. I'm not saying that the game isn't behind other MMO's. I'm not saying that I don't want to see content rolling out faster. All I'm saying is that the statement that "Mounts aren't even on the horizon" is not an accurate statement. If he had said that it is taking too long, or that it should be done sooner, then fine. But for something to not be on the horizon means to me that it hasn't been talked about or touched on at all.i wasn't talking about you personally taking up for the game, but that a game has to be compared side by side with other games. the fact that is was released in only half completed condition starts it behind the rest of those games and it has to work twice as fast to catch up. it's the opposite in the other games are widening the gap and not se closing it.

I think the problem is that they've taken so long to do everything up until now, that people expect the worst to avoid the disappointment.
And neither did you (except for some old youtube videos). Your assumption with this statement is that XI's launch was as bad or worse than XIV's, and you don't have enough evidence to support that.
Buy Witcher 2. That is all.
