Weeky Lockout for turn 1-5 removed? they shagged us

You do realize you are playing a social game, and status is part of that, right? They aren't elitist. They are a group of people with a passion for tackling hard content, and that requires them to organize into groups and find ways to recognize one another. The gear thus becomes a symbol of status within their group. They don't hate or look down on you.

The fact that they want something in return for their pre-nerf kills, isn't that being an elitist already? new players are still coming into this game, it just happened that YOU or these group of people you are referring to came in first.

Nobody deserves a special treatment, when everyone is paying the same amount of sub-fee. No one, I repeat, no one forced you to tackle down everything before it gets nerf. This was announced way long ago, it was expected by everyone.

Anyone else think they shagged the players and guilds that spent 1-2 months working towards getting turn 1-5 down and then they removed lockouts to give the casual players a chance to farm stuff on a plate while those who worked hard on t5 only given the chance to do 1 week on t5 for loot.

Good job saying F***U to the fcs and guilds that worked it. No point in having guilds in this game anymore its all duty finder

No offense, but according to your achievements you just beat turn 5 a week ago, get over it? If you wanted to farm it more then beat it early instead of waiting close to the next content patch?

Welp, no wonder, this is the only MMO I've seen that's recording a "world first / server first" on everything.

Actually I haven't seen anyone recording server/world firsts...in fact this is the only game I've played where I honestly couldn't even name you who got the firsts, even on my own server.
Other games I've played usually rewarded players for getting server firsts with special items.

Seems we're having a misunderstanding here, what I really meant was the players. Just look around youtube or dig down threads here, and you'll see a "World First / Server First" tag on it.

I've been on some games who rewards players who gets server firsts as well, but those are just for the sake of their event. Dragon Nest usually holds an event whenever there's a new Dragon raid coming, rewarding a cash prize and some exclusive titles for the first 5 or say first 1 to clear it.

Probably, a better solution just to satisfy the e-peens of these people is for SE to hold on an ingame event as well which will reward them a special item. Isn't that a win-win situation? Giving the players something to work for.

This is never going to be an MMO where you feel satisfied or accomplished by defeating all of the content. FF14 just isn't that type of MMO. All you need to do is look at the mechanics, zero (gear or stat) customization, GCD, red outlined ae's to see that the devs couldn't create difficult enough content if they wanted to. Hell you don't even need a vague or better understanding of all classes/job skills to excel in this game.

You want to know something even worse? This game will never be more difficult than it was upon release, it just is not that type of MMO.

Ffxi, Eve online, Maple Story, Star Wars Galaxies, etc...
I'm not saying they're better in their entirety, as mmos have improved on a lot of mechanics, but they did present alternative forms of progression to WoW. Also, I think Ultima Online, the first mmo, didn't do what WoWdid either.

Simple, do T6-9 and get the new symbol of status, you can't expect Allagan weapons to be the ultimate symbol of status for all eternity do you?

I have this nagging feeling that players who whine about T1-5 in 2.2 are actually players afraid of the new tougher content in 2.2 and as a result had little confidence that they will be able to tackle them early (before the content gets on farm mode) thus desperately holds on to their current achievements and wishes that others can't catch up to them so that they could continue to be part of a pseudo "elite club"

Imagine You pay to watch a Movie at the theater only to be told the movie will not play today.. you must wait a week because the person sitting next to you just watched a movie yesterday.
