I've seen it in WoW, i've seen it in Aion before it was F2P, just to name some. The issue here is most likely the increased bandwidth from increasing the position polling rate. And the routers on these routes aren't used to handling the amount of data that's not going through them. You can say what you want about SE putting servers where they are instead of splitting them and putting them in other locations. They are where they are, and it was likely a financial decision. Splitting and moving them now would cost more money in the long run, and unless they KNOW they can recoup that with more customers, would you expect a business to do so? Or would you tell them they should spend the money anyway when it could mean they lose money in the long run?
