there is a simple way to avoid that: make synthesis materials only drop in raid content.SE has already drilled home that when it comes to crafting it will never be equal to a raid drop. Doing so negates the raid content and providing a crafted item as a possible best in slot opens up a market for RMT. There might likely be better crafted gear in the PvP market because it will be meldable and affect a smaller portion of the game. Besides, since everyone can level all crafts there will eventually be a much higher supply of the items than the demand, so I wouldn't rely on it to be your money maker in the equipment area.
Still doesn't negate the other factor: RMT. If a raid drops synthesis materials and you craft a raid-level piece of equipment that opens the door for people to buy gil in order to afford your pricing of said item. Either way the stance on crafting is still that nothing craftable will be comparable to a raid drop.
With this Mindset nothing in this Game should be worth buying with Gil? Because People are buying gil from RMTs? Seems legit... not
Whether it seems legit to you or not, that is the reasoning behind their decision. They don't want end-game equipment craftable to prevent RMT selling the item to generate gil or players going to buy gil to afford the item.

Turn 6 won't be a "distant goal", as all you need to do is beat Turns 1-5. BCoB is being added to the Duty Finder, and is simultaneously being nerfed as well for Version 2.2.
He also mentioned that it would be like when 2.0 was released and people had no idea how to beat the current turns. Considering coil took quite a while to clear, i expect the new turns to be pretty difficult too and seeing as you need to have beaten t5 to enter, i assume they designed it to be difficult for people who are ilvl90.Q17: How difficult will the new turns of the Binding Coil of Bahamut be?
A17: The Binding Coil of Bahamut: Invasion (name TBD) will have a different item level than the current Binding Coil of Bahamut, so it’s a bit difficult to explain, but try to recall taking on the current Binding Coil of Bahamut without knowing anything at all.
They said new craftable armor will be ilvl 100, and I missed the portion, but FC member said they stated New turns will drop ilvl 120. They also said they are taking the week lockout off the first 5 turns, so everyone will be able to spam it to get full i90 quickly to take on the new turns.
As for the nerfing, all Ive seen was them saying they are going to add the Echo buff to it, which increases your HP and strength a bit if you fail multiple times, so groups who already one shot, will continue to, and those who wipe repeatedly will get a small buff to help out.
Yes, and what they are doing is completely killing off a part of the game for the sake of preserving those ideas. If they wanted generic dungeon crawler 3000 they certainly are approaching it and I wouldn't expect the community as it is to survive.Whether it seems legit to you or not, that is the reasoning behind their decision. They don't want end-game equipment craftable to prevent RMT selling the item to generate gil or players going to buy gil to afford the item.

Yoshida's core design has all but made crafting and gathering worthless and killed off all aspects of the economy. HE is so worried about RMT he killed off the economy himself.
What he is doing is just not working. RMT are still here and spamming us like crazy, but yet everything on the market that is gatherable sells for less the 100gil.
Hey, don't shoot the messenger. That's just their stand on it. Either way it does little to help crafting in the economy if everyone can craft the same items. There's no limitations to gathering and crafting, and eventually no one will need outside support except for mats. This is the point of all us posting on the forum.
