I can't speak for everyone else (unlike some people in this thread), but I'm not planning to go anywhere. I like ARR, and I think it will only get better.

Exactly my point, catering to the casuals will retain a player base only until said casuals get really excited about something else. When a good chunk of their players leave for something new SE will have lost pretty much everyone who is cheering them on in their casual approach, all that will be left is grumpy people who don't even log in anymore because there is nothing to do.
Nothing wrong with playing casually, MMO's are meant to be enjoyed at whatever pace you'd like, but there is a good number of people who want/expected more and were left with a sour taste in their mouth after 2.1.
That's a fair point, but at least here on the forums you only see the hardcore content raiders and the 1.XX players singing doom and gloom, not the casuals (that word again... I'd say someone who burns through the game and only logs in to run Coil on Mondays is a "casual" player.) But yeah, you raise a good point there.Exactly my point, catering to the casuals will retain a player base only until said casuals get really excited about something else. EDIT: Astrobear beat me by seconds.

Oh please there has been an abundance of threads made the casuals complaining about the toxic player base, content too hard and threatening to leave. Personal favorite 'nerf coil so I can see the story that follows after beating it'That's a fair point, but at least here on the forums you only see the hardcore content raiders and the 1.XX players singing doom and gloom, not the casuals (that word again... That's... wow. Yeah, I think I've seen some of those.
I guess it's just tiring to see so much negativity here. Some posters have legitimate complains and I understand them not being happy or outright disliking the game. What I don't get is the whole "I let my sub ran out but I still have 2 weeks left SO I'M GOING TO COME HERE EVERY SINGLE DAY AND LET YOU ALL KNOW HOW MUCH I HATE THIS GAME". It just seems so unnecessary, like, what do you expect to achieve with that?
