The state of prices economy doesn't concern me much. Instead, it's the lack of significant relevance for DoL and DoH in the game.

Crafting's main function is just to feed other crafters who are leveling right now, ditto with gathering (in regards to provisioning). It's a closed-loop system that will eventually die out when enough people realize what's going on.

They only need to hold on between updates when "new emerging markets" comes.

If we talk about jobs, income, GDP, cost of living, etc. Those are macro and still applies to FF14's virtual economy.

Prices very much matter in macro economics. It's how we track health.
