Well tbh... if 30 points is going to make or break my ability to play one or the other im probably not good at either... If all else fails ill just go play whm.

Valiance.

True, but as more and more jobs are added for each class.. more and more choices will have to be made and the "one character with all classes/jobs" will start feeling more and more restrictive/suffocating.
Didn't feel this way in FFXI lol - Only issue prior to Mog Case and Porter Mog was inventory space.

I am unfamiliar to how FFXI worked, how did it work ?
I know you could be any job as you can here (it had no "classes"), but how did stats work ? What was the "similar" thing there ?
Thanks.

Personally i would love the merits system here but you still have to chose what skills enhanced and what abilities to upgrade and unlock http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Category:Merit_Points
I agree, since 30 points do not make or break the game.
If it does "break the game" for you then just level WHM and BLM. Also dont ever level your chocobo, too many choices and no reset yet, you might have a breakdown.
I think it is only restrictive to bad players. It will not and should not restrict in any way. there is no "you need 500 VIT to enter this dungeon" Sure you wont deal as much damage as the guy with 30 INT allocated but hey when that 4k hit comes around you will be glad you have those 30 VIT points.
