Char Profile: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/character/4512665/
I was healing Copperbell mines (easy mode) and this Bard would not let the tank do his job and just kept pulling mob after mob after mob and then kiting around like a dumb ass. Even though it was my first time I was able to heal through it just fine and what a learning experience it was for me. I use to get mad and when healers would say that they let people die...now I know why...LOL This was one for the ages.
Server: BEHEMOTH
FC: CASCADIA
Playing since Beta phase 3
Healer horror story when I was tanking my first-ever run through Halatali with a DF. I was a little slow getting into my groove and I apparently let our CNJ take a little more attention than they thought they should have been subject to, on our very first pull. The CNJ quit the party after we downed the Doctore in the first threesome.
...so we finished the run with 3 party members (did not replenish) - me as GLD (I warmed into my groove); a truly excellent sync'd BRD; and for healing... the party Arcanist (running Emerald Carby!). I wish I could remember the ACN's name. She did a great job with what she had to work with.
I think its really hard for lowbie tanks to maintain aggro about 8 out of 10 DF low level dungeons I go to I run into a party where its members tank one thing or another.Healer horror story when I was tanking my first-ever run through Halatali with a DF. Those who are ignorant will leave. Those who understand won't give you $#@% for it. And then again, I'm a scholar. The only time a lowbie dungeon party could really wipe were if my fairy "afk'd" or if everybody pulled their own group of mobs.

Not a horror story ... well, kind of... lol. I was going Tam-Tara on my Mage. Me and the healer were talking and such throughout the instance and everything was going good.
The 4 mob pull before the last two orbs the healer d/c's. We sit for a moment and wait but he gets kicked by the DF. I say in chat, "Hey, I have a heal from my ARN on my bar still (For when I solo) so we can pull the next group and wait for a healer to join"
We proceed ... Everything goes good. Cutscene. Archer goes afk to grab a drink, thinking that we're waiting for a healer. I follow the tank into the boss room to stand there.
Tank pulls. I'm freaking out in RL at this point but healing him all the same ...
So between Fire 2 on the adds + Transpose for MP. I was able to keep us up and we downed the boss ... A healer joined at 10% and the Archer was cheering us on ... I promptly started leveling a WHM after that![]()
In actuality, Galvanize will reduce your enmity, because the longer you have to wait to heal, the more time the tank has to get a stable enmity level.
First hand experience. Was going to Titan HM to help a friend and didn't bother to SS people because meh, Tumult is 12 seconds away. Once tumult goes off, Medica is on and Titan hugged me.
Low Level Duty Roulette....I never expect it to be so hard....
So, the window pops I expect Copperbell, or such like. No, Stone Vigil. Ooo, I'm excited, havent run it for a while and think I remember liking it. Cool.
Not cool.
The message appears that we have a first time runner. All good. We say hais and trott off. Tank is ok, but seems to be needed much more healing than I recall is required in SV.....hmmm....
Tank starts numbering (I figure out it is our Monk that is new). All ok. Still disturbed by the amount of healing I am doing. Check I'm not in CS...nope....hmmmm
First Boss. Quick mechanics talk and we're in.
I wanted to cry, but instead shouted at the monitor. The Tank, tanked. He stood there, made no attempt to move from any aoe (which sometimes I get is not worth it), but he didnt bother with any defensive or healing buffs. Nothing. (he was Warrior). I had to spam CureII the whole time - nearly ran out of mana. We wiped becuase the MNK and BRD got a few hits, and by the time I'd done 2 x Regen, or even a Cure on them, the Tank was left with a gnats hair of health.
We tried 4 times. All wipes. Tank went mental. I asked him to try aviod aoe, or AT LEAST use his buffs to help me.....hmmmmm....he quit. Called us all noobs. LOL
We wait a while. First runner MNK is unhappy....so, I text my WAR friend. He's online. I ask, join SV in progress. He does - we get him!
We go to the first boss and clear him, no problem. Plently of mana and happy days.
I began to doubt my healing abilities and skill when the first tank unleashed on me/us. But as soon as I ask him to do what, quite frankly I think he should be doing (dodoge and buff), he goes mental, calls me a noob and f***s off.
Happy Ending tho. The MNK turns out to be on my server. We are friended now.![]()

Oh that SV one is nicereminds of another. I as tank while leveling, war if i remember, I was like ilvl 34 or 35, a bit low imho but still think i can do SV.
Starts on first pack, I... insta die... I say, ok, might have done something stupid. On second pull, i aggro aevis, and someone gets the flies. I get aggro on all of them and.... die 10 secs later. Third pull... die again in like the 30 firsts seconds of combat. Fourth pull, I ll let you guess. I left at that point, thought I did not have the equipment for it.
Went back later with an FC mate... never died once with same equipment and half the time the mate was dpsing ^^. I wonder sometimes what healer do![]()
LOL! I know. Same run, only one person changed...and the whole run is different......I got poo Tank, and you got poo Healer....its amazing how one person can make such a difference!Oh that SV one is nicereminds of another. I'm fairly new to the game (about 3 weeks in) and have only had one bad situation with healing, so far.
I was playing as Scholar in Brayflox with a random group from the duty finder. We get to the final dragon boss, we explained to the tank the mechanics of the fight (because he'd never been there before).
Well, the tank would not dodge the dragon breath, and would not get himself out of the poison pools on the ground. So, literally the only thing I could do the whole fight was constant Physick's, fairy heals and Adlo. I had no opportunity to do anything else, other than the occasional Aetherflow.
He died twice. I raised him both times. My heals were hitting for about 350+ on non-crit plus the fairies Embrace adding another 200+.
We beat the dragon, and his response in chat is "wow heals sucked." So, not only was he not following the advice people gave him, but he blamed his stupidity on me. Classic.
