Groovy, thanks. Knowing that ahead of time, I might actually have a shot. Versus flailing helplessly when "kite this one thing" doesn't quite work out that way. XDTechnically you are supposed to kite everything there is no easier way to do it. If everyone else focuses all attacks on boss using no AoE's and not aggroing the adds it takes like 2 minutes to kill. All you do is precast stoneskin on everyone then at around 50% before it summons the first wave of adds use divine seal and regen on everyone including yourself then run in a circle around the outside of the arena casting regen again when needed on everyone. You can use regen while moving and use sprint to get distance from adds.

Another strategy (was a PLD, DRG, BLM, and myself WHM) PLD tanked the boss of course, had the DRG off tank the other ant, I'd keep him and the PLD topped off, and the BLM would stand on top of me, and when the little ants went after me, he'd aoe them and then dps the boss in between spawns. Worked for us, not sure how well it would work for anyone else though. My first time through Cutter's Cry was a breeze. The tank was very good, so that first time didn't prepare me at all for subsequent runs.
The second time through, we got to the first boss, and I ended up with both the big ant adds plus a few small ones eating me. We wiped. The tank asked about strategy, and the MNK said I was supposed to kite the healer ant. Which was news to me. I tried, but it just wasn't working, especially since I ended up "kiting" everything every time. Next was having the DPS hold the healer ant, which might have worked, except the DPS and tank ran to opposite sides of the room, leaving me to run back and forth to alternate who was in range for heals while trying to not to get eaten by the Guard and more small adds. Everyone said the same thing: I don't know what's up, last time this was easy. So every one of us basically got carried our first time through. Eventually, we finally tried having the tank just actually tank and we got it down anyway, with myself and the tank dead with the boss at probably 2%. But we'd taken so much time, we had to rush to the end boss, and only had time for two and a half tries on that.
At which point, I learned that apparently, the French game client doesn't tell you what color the chimera's eyes are glowing in the warning that pops up. Our tank was playing in French, and said that regardless of what's being cast, the warning says the exact same thing. Awesome.
Cutter's Cry.
Nothing more to say.

The last group I was in, ended up with a fake tank. The kid would stand in the red, and refuse to rotate the mobs. After the 2nd mob group, I let the idiot die, and we finished the instance without him.

Garuda : 2 mistakes
Mistake number 1: Mine (but at least now I know)
I had just completed a Ifrit run and had my fairy on "place". We complete the run and I register for a Garuda with DF.
My fairy was still on "place" and I learned the hard way that she does not reset position...
The video is not finished, Garuda is already attacking us while we are still in that start protection ring...
and I could see my fairy over there, where garuda usually is, just hanging out
so FYI: Fairy does not reset position from on primal to another
That cause a beautiful wipe that nobody had seen before, I am quite proud of it
Mistake number 2: Wrong button
We are a bit shaken from that experience, people did not understand what happened but I knew that my fairy tried to kill us.
Anyway, try again, we buff, get in position, tank start discussing who will main/sub and then the Summoner attacks first...
Garuda eat him and while on the floor he gives us a "sorry, wrong button"
Beautiful, my first spell of the fight is raise.
He will then proceed to die 3 other tie (total: 4), my raise record for a Garuda fight

I knew the fairy didn't reset position in Ifrit, but didn't know that carried over to other Primals O_OGaruda : 2 mistakes

Selene has killed me 3 times in Ifrit so far, lol.
My fairy once just ran over to Ifrit and pulled him on our faces... so that's why.

Just got done telling a bard and monk to let the tank get hate before going off because they were stripping it so early..they stopped using moves and auto attacked every mob.
