Personally I hope that NM and UU Gear can't be used for Materia Conversion only for having materia grafted to it. but thats a economic balance issue.I want to like that idea, but the example seems a bit extreme to me. Fighting side by side with melee fighters in coatees and canvas vests just would feel too off lol.
But I do agree that "materia" can lessen the burden and assist people who want to look a certain way and be effective. Say mr haubergeon, crafted from skilled metalworkers, this is a great pick up and go piece of armor. Solid stats, set in stone, not much else to do. But other options, say armor that drops from NMs and the such, could have weaker base stats, look completely different, and have many empty slots for your liking. Then you can cram the materia you want for stats you favor into a piece of armor that you enjoy looking at. It'd be a lot more work, but you'd also potentially end up with a stronger piece that houses your personal style and stats.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

oh forsure. I'd rather the demand stay with crafted gear in as many ways as possible, and NM gear be something you hunt once and then it continues to grow with you. Thus crafters remain important and relevant, and keeps NM "hunting" in the realm that the demand for them doesn't turn it into NM "camping".

lol, probably should've put this in that other thread...

Thats cuz you havent seen ME wearing themLol you had to use the coatee as an example, I find them things horrid as hell for fanservice! Worse than subligars.

Its not like the characters in FFXIV have the chest mass to make it matter. the Breast sizes in FFXIV are not that big, ranging between B and low C in cup size. While characters in past ff's like Tifa (Double F) and Lulu (F) had much bigger.

Meh, sounds sort of interesting. Personally I'd prefer more customisation of the overall armour set to the specific class/job. I'm sure it'd please the freedom-obsessives, though.
And of course, it would go a ways to explaining a way out of the fact that job-specific armour wouldn't work if jobs weren't locked to a class, and I know how you hate that.

I have no problems with Job specific gear and no job specific gear doesn't require class locking.
