Yep, if you watch the making of the realm discs, they have tons of different skins of plate armor that look so much cooler than what we have. You can even see examples of this armor as far back as the early 2010 pre-alpha game show videos.
Better then nothing i guess, but talk and a little video showing flashy skills dosen't impress me much.
I find it interesting that they've apparently changed the music for La Noscea, or perhaps they're adding additional songs to each area so it's not the same looping piece over and over.
The Active/Passive button is onscreen, and normally hotkey mapped to F.
Surprised nobody mentioned the fact that physical levels are still in. I don't know what the timeframe was for that being removed, but just putting that out there.
For the guys complaining about how it took "9 months to get active/passive without stopping", I look at it this way - FFXI still doesn't have it after 9 years. Theoretically they had an update 3 years ago which was supposed to prevent people from getting stunlocked during engagement/disengagement when they were targeted by magic, and even that didn't work out the way it was supposed to. Perhaps my bar is set pretty low on that front, but after years of XI, you kinda had to.
The video is good progress, but personally I just wish he'd have addressed the delay in any info being released. And I have a slim hope that maybe there will be more content in the patch than is being let on, seeing as how this stuff is all in the realm of the battle team and raid/dungeon team. Also I wish the Ifrit battle had been framed in the overall story rather than just saying "Oh hey guys, you'll be able to fight Ifrit now!". I mean, I'm fairly certain it is story-related, but it should've been teased as a continuation of the story and not "New singular epic battle with an iconic-but-still-third-tier franchise icon!". It is as if FFXI had teased COP Chapter 4 as "Fight a dragon!".
I'm referring to their track record since Yoshi took the helm — lackluster updates with vague communication. Here's hoping 1.18 will change that. But based upon this letter alone; it looks like this team are following the same pattern. As I said earlier... I REALLY do hope they plan on releasing other tidbits of info on 1.18 over the next two weeks.

When you are looking @ a vid showing off just AA and new WS. The Plvl probably was not done away with cause they did not add the new stat changes so plevel was relevant so the char could do dmg or just decided to use an older looking build to not show everything. The Active/Passive button is onscreen, and normally hotkey mapped to F.

Ill ask again what is your point cause he never promised any big changes till this very patch right here so what lackluster updates? He added more content than Tanka did his first 4 months he was in charge.I'm referring to their track record since Yoshi took the helm — lackluster updates with vague communication. I hope they change the animation where you switch between passive and active - where the character slides...that could drive me crazy![]()
As much as everything else in this game has been rush through the door; let SE take a few extra weeks so that they can deliver a product that they can be proud of and we the fans can enjoy.
