8 Twintania kills with a set group of 8 people and seeing 3 PLD Swords and 3 MNK Fists is not thrilling for the healers or casters.

Also for every "<insert job here> drops every time!" from one group, another group will say "<insert some job different from the first one> drops every time". Random number is random, stop crying that its broken.

The drops are only (quotations) "rare" because the loot pools are so utterly bloated. You can't really call it rare when your raid group doesn't see any DRG pieces drop EVER but a different group in your FC sees nothing BUT DRG pieces drop. I know it's generally your stance to stick up for SE at every corner, but come on... This loot system is getting old fast.
It's only one loot system. Not every content uses it. We have the relic weapons where you choose your reward in advance, complete the quest, and get the reward. Then we have the once a week ex primal quest where you get a weapon of your choice (IN ADDITION to random drops from the bosses themselves). Then we have the mytho and philosophy tomes which also let you get the items you want when you want, as fast as you can earn them.

Lots of people played FFXI and killed the HNMs over and over for rare drops. And while I'm not a big fan of FFXI's HNMs, there are people who want that content in this game, so random loot isn't going away. You're lucky that you get 2 items from every turn every time, if it was FFXI, you'd be lucky to get anything at all.
