Netflix is arguably a better entertainment bargain than FFXIV, I never said FFXIV was the absolute best entertainment value in the world, just that it is very good. That does not negate any of my points in any way.

I don't mean to put you down but your verbiage and logic are all over the place, dollars in does NOT equal profit. You have no idea what you are talking about, since you are not an account or executive officer for Square Enix. Not only do they have to cover current costs, but they spent, what, 6 years total developing this monster between 1.0 and the current iteration? They need to recover those costs to have it be considered a profit. On top of that, they need to be developing new expansions and content. It would be extremely cost prohibitive to release something new every 60 days just from an efficiency stand point!


As to everyone else - I'm done, this thread as become counterproductive. From the arguments straw-manning my post, to the misunderstandings of my point, to the pointless arguments and fallacies (not to mention the hard-to-follow nature of a lot of posts).

I don't think I know best but I think that my perspective has some value, and I wanted to share it with people. Way to turn this into a negative poop-throwing competition.

If you think I'm trying to tell you how to spend your money, you have missed the point. If you think that I am defending the game's flaws, you have missed my point. If you think I set out to bait people into argument, you have missed my point.
