I typically queue as healer so I usually switch to a different job to xp or something while waiting for a queue to pop, so maybe I'm just less sensitive to how long it takes?

Yeah for DPS classes there's the very real chance of being shunted back to what seems like the start of the queue when the group fails to enter properly.
