Sell Fantasia on the Mogstation

I don't think there has to be any back story as to why they introduce Fantasia into the Mog Station. Hell, we re run the same dungeons day in day out. Yet the mobs are still there each time and he bosses some how come back?!?!

Yes, with dungeons it is a rather necessary evil, you got no real option there. The internal logic of the world should be kept as much as possible, because that's what makes a great world for me.

They put effort into explaining why teleportation works like it works in this world. They took an effort into making teleportation something that makes sense within that world. And like I've written above: I do think they should try to keep the things consistent with the internal logic of the world as much as possible.

Yes, it does make sense for them to explain In-Game Mechanics, like teleporting.

But for a random item that not everyone will choose to partake in needs no back story. I don't recall them writing a back story in regards to World Transfer services.

Considering they already offered a maximum of two for some characters, this 'consistency' has already broken.

The would should contain some from of consistency, but seeing as they're adding this as an optional service now we can only hope that the (hopefully) high price will deter people from using this as a weekly "LOL i'll change to Lalafell this week", £15-20 is a HUGE amount of money, almost double the subscription most would pay. (Basing the price off other MMOs with a similar service)

It's been proven with other MMOs and the like that these services don't get abused often, your world consistency will be safe, however it won't be wrapped in cotton wool.

I can completely understand why you and many others (including myself) want it kept as a rare or expensive thing to deter players using it often.
I personally hate seeing people I've known as "That Lalafell" suddenly changing to a Roegadyn, but increasingly i've noticed that I get used to the change and completely forget about it within a few weeks and they simply become "That Roegdayn".

It's ok, HurtigeKarl has been against this from the very beginning... I have no idea why either, changing someones personal appearance doesn't effect anyone whatsoever.

At the end of the day it is just a character and you can adjust to the new change, but saying people aren't affect by it is simply silly.

I'm pretty confident they'll add Fantasia potion as a paid optional service in the future.

Not true, there are a lot of people in-game that you'll metter, get to know or simply recognise, there is an unsettled effect of inconsistency as to how you actually know that person based on their appearance when they suddenly change from a Lalafell to a Roegdayn. Saying it doesn't affect anyone else at all simply isn't true.

At the end of the day it is just a character and you can adjust to the new change, but saying people aren't affect by it is simply silly.

That's like saying "No, you can't buy a new car.. because I'm used to you driving that crappy one.."

You don't have to be a die-hard role-player to enjoy the consistency of the lore and the world around you. I personally liked the consistency of everyone staying the same, but at the same time I don't mind if they switch* its something I get used to over time as I made very clear in my last point.

No-one is forcing anyone to do anything, don't make a mountain out of a mole-hill. You've taken what someone has posted as their opinion (even if the tone may come across as aggressive) as base-fact. You have the ability to change your appearance with an optional service coming in the near future, this shouldn't tickle your sensitivity anywhere near this much.


You also may have misconstrued my original point, I'm not against adding and or the use of Phials of Fantasia at all, I can just understand their point-of-view on it too instead of shoving my own opinion down as the most important thing in the world.


People could argue this back and forth for years, but the decision was already made when they were made available originally. That however doesn't mean he can't provide his opinion on it.

I'm simply making the point that the change does affect the people around you and saying otherwise is simply silly, but even with that being said no-one is forcing a "YOU CANT DO THIS" on you, they can say they don't like it but it's already been done.



*I used my original appearance change plus two Fantasias so far and it only proved my point further, in that every time I changed people were confused, shocked, annoyed or happy with the change.
