The OP (with over 700 likes) expressed disappointment he wouldn't be in a house by Christmas (~2 weeks). So I can see where some people would assume the thread is about "give us our house now". In actuality, it's less about "whiners" and "white knights" than all that.

The gist of the thread is that housing prices were set too high. And within 2.5 days (on Dec 17), Yoshi-P himself responded (with over 200 likes) to say yes, that is correct, that prices were set high to prevent rapid purchases and will be coming down (faster than the slow ticking 6-hour price decreases of 0.14%). 10 days later SE posted they they will be slicing half a zero (divide by 5) off of the highest legacy world pricing. And by the 3 month countdown, it will be a full zero sliced off those housing prices. So many may think there's not much left to argue about.

But... what's a fair price? Yoshi-P says the game can provide ~17k/day. Let's say 4 days a week is a fair expectation for most active players. That's 272k/month. I say players shouldn't give 100% to the cause, and of course they have individual expenses (repair, gear upgrade, etc.), so call it 50% to the FC. Roughly estimating, I say houses are currently sized for 15/50/100 people. Multiply to get 2M/7M/14M gil earned in a month for S/M/L housing.

Even at 2 months that's not enough for the 5M/20M/66M that the cheapest S/M/L prices will have ticked down to. (Does SE price houses for 20/80/250 member FCs?) Finally, I would say housing is worth maybe 1.5 months of work. So that would put the 6-week prices at 3M/10M/20M. If SE continues with their 3-month countdown scheme, that makes housing start at about half of group 3 pricing. That would be starting prices of 4M/14M/28M that trickled down to half that over 3 months. That seems fair based on the amounts of gil the game doles out.

TL;DR: 4M/14M/28M.
