The 'Join Party In Progress' button is not a speed pass. It is not to 'get to the right boss' or to 'get the myth and get out' its...to help people. It's a kindness button. It was put in game to allow parties already in a duty a way to fill a spot once someone abandoned them so that they could finish the duty (otherwise, in many cases, they would have to leave the Duty themselves once one person dropped group due to low DPS/no healer or no tank).

I partially agree with you, but I also think that it is a good option for someone with short time to spend to try the "luck" and join an in-progress party; nothing shameful there, imho.

The problem is when people refuse fresh new instances seeking only already started parties and "withdraw". Maybe the "join ONLY party in-progress" could be limited to once per day or twice.

I can't find the post at the moment, but there was an "official" response to this problem that basically said, (and I'm paraphrasing here), "We are aware of the problem, however we don't really think this is an issue right now. One day, when there is nothing else to do, we will get around to maybe making a fix for this, but don't hold your breath because we have more important things to do." I'll search around and see if I can find the link, then come back and edit this post to show where I read it.

I can see their point. SE is probably bashing their heads in how every time they restrict something people were abusing, the 'community' finds a different way to leech off of people and just generally only care about themselves.

we go from afk runs to getting a kick function. promptly people start kicking people for being 'bad' and for supposedly looting on the same gear... before, people left runs when they got the 'one or more people are new blabla' text, now they don't join a run to begin with if it isn't already in progress. before, people complained that everyone only did fates and nobody knew how to play their class since they didn't do dungeons. now we get sastasha 'speedruns' with tanks running off without the lvl 15 healer new to the game, so they can get their tomes quickly (supposedly)

The craziest thing that happened to me so far was exactly that same shit for like 70 times in a row whil queueing for CT.
Once inside everyone started raging because it had been the same problem for everyone

You know why this issue is happening right?

Because people want to take shortcuts, they want others to play the game for them so they can enter dungeon with 2/3 finished.

SE should implement a small penalty, like 2 min locked if player withdraws more than once. This will give chance to player who actually wanna do the dungeon join together.

This happens alot for CT because certain people only want to get int he middle for their items.(they should just make CT drops random in every chest).

noob question, but aren't CT drops random? Oo as far as i've done CT several runs weekly since patch the drops seemed pretty random to me

It happened maybe once in the last two weeks, but this week? Every run after a boss someone leaves.


"Oh, but they got their gear for the week, why would they stay?"

Because there are 21 other people who did not get loot that fight that helped, and they want their shot at the next bosses loot pool.

Added 6 people to my blacklist on my server alone this week. Guess that's what I get if the 3 bits of CT gear I want all come from the last boss.

Not exactly, certain body parts are from certain bosses. So for example, someone who wants MNK body, would rather enter during Behemoth phase than from start. Getting the myth/phil stones at the end is fun too... considering u just wasted 10 min of the time to get what you wanted instead of running from scratch.
