    You from Europe ? If so, it's pretty obvious why you and many others (including me) have higher ping... Cause there are not servers in Europe, unlike almost every other MMO.

    If you live in US, then I don't know... Shouldn't be any problem. I get the ping I expect from Sweden, 160 without WTFast(not "premium") and 140 with it. Which is to be expected.

    There's problems with people in the US and problems with people that have only a stone's throw to the data center servers - That means it's an ISP problem because unlike other MMORPGs, XIV's data tend to get throttled by ISPs due to it appearing as torrent type P2P traffic. This is why with some other MMOs, WoW included, some people have issues updating the game but not necessarily playing it.

    I agree. As a casual player I have taken a break from the game. I spend all this time I don't have studying for fights I can't win because I find can't seem to find a team that can do it with the time I have to play per day. Once I do CT and coil, I get myth capped and I am done for the week. 60 dungeons and PvP just seem pointless to me. My RNG luck sucks as well, I have only seen two casting drops since I have been doing coil. If it wasn't for myth gear, I would have quit already.

    Are you dense, or have selective reading? It doesn't matter if it scripted and you follow the script to a fine point. If the server doesn't update your position due to the numerous potential network issues, or current server stress and delay in processing, it is irregardless if you predicted/dodge the plume or not. The fight is too heavily tuned based on a perfect connection. Need I repeat this again, and maybe it will sink into that thick skull of yours? "This thread probably wouldn't exist if SE actually let the client determine who was in the hit box, and not the server."

    Had heard something about this before, but I thought it got fixed ?

    Not something I notice, since we don't have any throttling of p2p.... That would s*ck.

    I laughed so much when someone said they can't account for people with 200ms latency.

    If that was the case, then SE shouldn't have sold the game in Australia at all. Or New Zealand.

    They did. It's up to them to "deal with it".

    If Only...

    A mix between the environment mechanics found in games like Rift, GW2 and WoW, combined with the character job skill variety and specialty found in Ragnarok and bosses who use the environment, skills, and status effects would make for the perfect dungeon boss battles imo. Not only would the fights be stellar, but the skill specialties and niches allowed by customization ala Ragnarok would make for some fun party match-ups and allow for all classes to be important at different times.

    I've been saying this for ages. Action MMOs like TERA allow for client-side hit detection in order to pull off fast-paced dodge-heavy combat with weaker servers and poor connections. SE clearly wants XIV to be largely built around leaning the "dance," but when that's so latency-dependent, the hit detection cannot really be server-side.

    I could do any amount of content in that game with a >200ms ping, and yet I eat Landslides and Weights that I'm not even near with lower ping than that in XIV...

    yep i tanked in Tera bosses that makes titan extreme a carebear tossing kisses around, in FFXIV i get out of aoes still get hit from time to time.....its frustrating eating a landslide that u avoided in your screen yet the game think u didnt, im sure my FC think im a baddie

    i dont mind wiping for hours learning encounters ect, but titan is a frustrating exp (hell i remember Coil T5 before 2.1....i was eating random divebombs , good thing now with 0.1 i can avoid 99% of them )

    i only have issues in FFXIV (never had issues in other mmorpgs eq2,wow, rift to name a few....) im from EU , and not gonna pay more in order to get less ping , put servers on EU or stop putting content that u need <100 ping
