i've got smn to 40, whm to 50 and blm to ~30. i have never used surecast. it's a useless cross class and useless ability all around. >.< make it useful for BLM's and (less) useful for a cross class ability too. please ; ;Except by situational, you literally mean 'never used out of PvP, and only then very infrequently'.
Still, as a cross-class skill, if you are going to make Surecast worth using, it should be worth using for everyone who has access to it, not just THM/BLM. It should be better for THM/BLM, but it should not be useless unless you are THM/BLM. Otherwise, why is it a cross-class skill at all?
As is, you're advocating for making Surecast like Hawk's Eye. Great if you are ARC/BRD, but completely shit for everyone else.

1 of 3 skills that are useless on blm. def needs a change especially cause it is "cross-classable"
The difference is big at the moment when it comes to fights like Titan EM. No where did I ask for 10% damage buff, all I asked for is mechanics changes. Seriously, you think removing Thundercloud & Firestarter procs from the GCD going to make us outdps mnk?If BLM would catch SMN in a movement heavy fight in term of dps... there would be a problem and SMN would be buffed or BLM nerfed. You have the best aoe, the best burst. Stop asking to have the best DPS in single target aswell.
As for MNK, it is the same. They "only" have single target dps.

Kind of like how Thunder was good for everyone else except THM/BLM because it was a trash low level skill? Just like how Blizzard is useless to everyone now including THM/BLM?Except by situational, you literally mean 'never used out of PvP, and only then very infrequently'.

The current trait for Surecast sucks. It implies that you're actually using it..which is never necessary because of reasons already previously mentioned. In places that you would get interrupted, and you know that it would happen, the enemy is invulnerable anyway. In other places that if you used it and would get interrupted anyway you would just move. So THM/BLM has a traited skill that is garbage.
Many non-traited skills are bad. When you give it a trait, it's usually much better or at least decently better than non-traited version. Whereas traited Surecast is just as bad as non-traited.

This seems to be the source of frustration, but the same can be said for a lot of skills in the game.
We're all frustrated, but we also have to be concerned about whether this change would create an imbalance between classes.
I'd actually be interested in a quicker recast, or maybe a proc on Swiftcast. It essentially achieves the same result, and doesn't require redefinition of a skill. Quicker recast is probably too much, maybe proc makes more sense.

or give us float![]()

Ah Float, the great equalizer... We are talking about Beer Floats right?
So there does seem to be some general agreement here. Surecast in its current form is useless, and could stand to be changed to something that enables BLMs to cast on the move, so reduce the significant handicap we have on movement heavy fights.
So now the question becomes, how would we go about bringing SE's attention to this topic so something might actually happen, or even get some dev feedback?
Something that may be ridiculously obvious, yet possibly worth mentioning, is that you should try to use Sprint as much as possible as a BLM in AOE-dodge-intensive fights. I started using Sprint everytime Titan HM uses stomp after heart, and it's ridiculously easy to escape plumes while doing so. Also, the faster you can run, the faster you can start casting again.
