BRD - Out Of Range Message When Circle-Kiting?

When I'm hunting mobs solo as a BRD, I like to kite mobs in a circle. I noticed that when using my 25y skills (especially the DoTs) while kiting, I sometimes get a "Target out of Range" error.

I AM in range. I do NOT have anything blocking my LoS. I have auto-face-target enabled so that I turn to my target when I fire the DoT. I am not locking onto the target. I do not have this same problem while I'm standing still.

Has anyone else experienced this? Aside from not moving, are there any other fixes?

"Out of range" is the same message you get if you're not facing your target. Even with auto-facing on, when kiting in a circle I still find myself occasionally not facing the target, and therefore getting that error.

I get a similar message when circle kiting

I understand that you sometimes are not facing the target but I usually strafe in a circle so that I am always facing the target and still get the message occasionally.

It does not make a lot of sense to me especially when the mob can hit me and its a melee attack.

That is simply hilarious timing as your auto-attack also gives you "out of range" warnings when you are not facing the correct direction.
So you are simply using a skill almost in synch with your AA causing you to attribute it to the skill, when it really was the AA that got error'd

That may be true sometimes, but usually when the error occurs the ability I pressed doesn't go off either (no animation or GCD).

If you have auto turn enabled, do as I do for less annoyance. Turn off error messages, and spam your skill key two or three times real quick. If the first errors, the system will still consider you facing target for the quick follow up.

I have the error messages turned off from my log, but I don't think you can't turn off the sound or the red text that appears on your screen.

You can turn off the system sound, but this will also turn off /tell sound and <se.1> sound

Never seen this message before, the only thing I know is target is not in line of sight.

Does this message happens when you are on normal camera mode?

Because I play Ifrit EX in legacy camera mode and I dodge the eruptions by running from 12 o clock to 6 o clock, so my back is facing Ifrit and I have no problems shooting my arrows.

Ive been getting this on all my classes.

It's like the beta, when playing on JP servers.

If a mob is in movement, you were unable to attack it, as the animation starts, then cancels.
Then came the NA servers, and things were fine.

Now, after 2.1, it seems like all attacks, both ranged and melee, even if u follow its tail, like to cancel 50% of the time (or more) if the mob is in the middle of moving.

It's becoming problematic for adds showing up as i tank, and shield lob or tomahawk go off, do the animation, then cancel, the mob nearly kills the healer, then finally spamming it, goes off. (even if in melee range, they fail repeatedly, until the mob stops moving.)

Turned my errors on, and saw it giving the same error.
