i admit the ilevel recquired in the DF is way too low for some defy or dungeon....

Before the ilvl req, I had a bunch of horribly undergeared DPS down the heart on Titan HM. They weren't good enough to avoid wiping on bombs or plumes, but we're talking ilvl50 average for all of them -- two DRGs, a BRD, and a BLM with ilvl55 weapons and ilvl50-60 armor with ilvl40-60 accessories. Competent players meeting the current ilvl requirement can clear it handily.

That's just it. They have this requirement because they're bad players and need to be carried.

That's the point though, the system does not require the creator to meet the level they set. Also for reasons beyond what I can fathom the max iLVL goes up to 200, but perhaps they are planning ahead.
