Give us things in the open world to look for and collect, SE

Small things. It doesn't have to be expensive treasures or anything of that sort. Maybe pages from Louisoix's journal, special locations, special NPCs that shed light on some some lore, etc. Eorzea is awesome and I'd love a reason to explore old areas again. No sense in going back to them if I've seen all there is to see =/

RIFT did something similar and kept me going back to old areas constantly. I've asked for this before, but though I'd ask again

    While the idea is good,

but here goes the "the last game I played had it, this game should have it too" logic. Don't you want some change?

Not just the last game I've played, but a lot of games have this; give you incentive to go out of your way to explore. I was giving an example of something simple to implement. Something more complex would be open world caverns, secret entrances to an underground cave that's home to an ancient amalj'aa tribe, small hidden Sahagin (sp?) towns tucked away in caves behind waterfalls that could be used for their dailies once implemented, etc. As it stands now, the world is barebones =/

Isn't the Treasure map do something similar atm? Though you either need to buy it, or level a DoL class for you to get it.

Treasure hunting is a step towards the right direction. Though we all knew it was coming for months already. SE hasn't mentioned anymore open world features as far as Iknow.

Because SE lacks the initiative the promote their own content MORE.

I bet alot of people who doesn't visit the forums don't even know that there's a treasure map ingame post 2.1. Same goes with Party Finder feature.

Yeah, a lot of people don't really know about either of those things, sadly.

One [relatively] easily implemented idea I have for this is that every single monster drops a minion of itself. Literally every single monster, even the ones in dungeons. The drop rates should be low, perhaps 1% or even less.

I realize, however, that we do have some minions of some monsters already, such as the pudding and raptor. I'm sure SE can think of ways to make the dropped minions different.

I wouldn't mind something to reward the explorers or people who are just out to enjoy the view, as opposed to those who will only ever touch a piece of content if it's "worth it" in terms of item/tome/gil rewards.

But any such content will need to be purely random. I.e., nothing like rare monsters who have a spawn timer and always spawn in the same few fixed positions. No camping of such exploration rewards should be possible. It should be something that when you run into, gives you a pleasant surprise.

Something that makes the world feel alive. As it is, Eorzea is pretty much a static world (dead).

Kind of what they were going for with fates. They didn't expect people to target them as a sole source of leveling.
