I honestly think a lot of the fights they have designed lately are simply an excuse to justify their 4/8 man party system of 2 tank 2 heal 4 dps. Sure, a lot of these mechanics can be worked around with the right gear + skill combination, but I personally thing it is bad game design and will lead to make all job very basic. They already don't have enough party slots to even make bard, bard. No, instead it is some "hybrid' trash that Yoshi-P and his team dreamed up. I'll get some eye rolls for he comparison, but in XI and I liked ranger and I liked bard, but I don't like them combined at all. Back on topic, yeah, mechanics designed to fit the party system is the reason.
