You can be as smart as you want with your comment, but it doesn't deny the fact that there just may not be enough people applying to fill these roles. I know I wouldn't work for them right now.
Am I missing something? did Square Enix become a indie game company over night, that is having a hard time filling employee positions?

Lets not forget that SE has a NA headquarters that hires independently from JP, with that said in the state in which the NA economy as a whole is do you really think people would pass up a chance to be a part of a multi million dollar company... failed game or not..

I know a plethora of people who care about this game and would love to help in any way, even if that meant being an unpaid community rep (like a GM, which a lot of smaller gaming companies do ex. S2).

If you can show me some article even hinting at people resigning completely from the company and a lack of response in hiring, then all entertain your thought.

While you might want business to work that way, it doesn't. The company is suffering alot right now, the E3 line up alone shows that it is really being bled dry. People are reluctant to change jobs, and I can imagine very few people would like to join a company that is right at the bottom of the food chain.

Your basing a businesses success on an E3 line up (which you personally don't like) and you state i don't know how the business world works... Did FF XIV hurt SE well derp of course it did but it did not destroy the company... Square Enix is as strong as they have ever been over in JP, albeit to say they may be struggling in NA as of late. You make it sound like Square Enix is on its last leg and planing to liquidate their assets.

Square Enix faced a rough year no doubt with a net lose of 16 billion yen (keep in mind a portion of that was due to natural disasters), but that is hardly putting Square Enix in a position to not be able to support itself in rough economic times. Square Enix fiscal plan shows no signs of slowing and only of improvement, look it up.

Edit: Just because you are pissed at a company or you feel they are doing bad does not make it so, or the belief of everyone around you. I feel that SE has a strong line up of games to be released thus they must be doing well, see how that works.. -_-

Game line up hype is not synonyms of company success.

SE have just sold 6 of their franchises to other companies. Some of these were franchises they have held onto for close to 20 years, the most prominent of which being the Kingdom Hearts one. They have also just announced fiscal losses for consecutive years in all bases across the world, and have also been on the edge of the playstation hacking stuff AND are still recovering from the massive loss following the build and abandonment of their CG Studios, for their new line of movies, which went down the pan.

Come on man, fanboys aside, you can't honestly say that SE is as strong as it has always been? It is in a terrible state right now, and is constantly coming up with one bad decision after another.

If you love it so much though, go apply to be a community rep.

IIRC it was Activision, but I can't be 100% on this. I am looking for the agreement thing I read a few months back now. If I find it ill post the link.

Carmageddon, Kingdom Hearts, and 4 Japanese only franchises. I believe they are all listed on the corporate SE website though.

6 franchises.... right I'm curious where you get your information, also to note every company every year has fiscal loses last year Square Enix still finished in the green... and lets get this straight the inference that selling franchise means a company is "bleeding dry" is garbage look at Bioware who has sold rights to game franchises on multiple platforms, it is called a marketing strategy and a profitable one at that.

Or do you mean competently liquidating and selling the projects as a whole to different gaming companies?

and if you can link me any credible source stating that SE sold Kingdom Hearts i would love to see it, because every source i have seen still has it labeled as SE with no info on a possible change in publisher, or developer.

If you were to look at a majority of my posts you can easily see i am no fan boy, and i have my criticisms of SE, however they are not in a state of financial strain to keep them from hiring.

looks like they still own kingdom hearts, maybe the sold the european distribution rights to someone. carmageddon says they sold it back to the original owners, and they basically got the rights by buying some other company. Sounds like just business deals.
