He's not actually dead because of the power of the Heartstrike dagger, he's in a frozen death-like state. That's why Greinfarr wants to steal the dagger from Lord Lolorito (whom Nielle originally stole it from in 1.0 to try and use on Warburton), he thinks if he uses the dagger on Nielle again that he will finally be dead.

As for those who'd like a quick (small? brief?) summary of the Ul'dah storyline check: Ul'dah storyline and Minfilia is actually Ascilia. (good reads for those interested in how we worked back in the "old days" with our theories and Ferne finally helping us along).

I'd redo it all if I had time but sadly I don't . Anyways At least now 1 question has been answered:
[q]Why was Warburton in Ul'dah? [a]He was a spy who had knowledge of the 'true threat' that faced Eorzea, the Primals. He also had knowledge of Ala Mhigo and the Garlean occupation.

Now for me this answers 1 question but raises more. Corguevais said his mission was the same as Warburton's, but his actions truly were questionable. If he was there in Ul'dah to relay information then why was he performing in a parade for a festival instead of meeting with leaders of Ul'dah and giving them the information. Now having said that, I can bring up a quote that Greinfarr says about Corguevais' clothes and that he said he had seen Imperials garbed the same. So now my theory aligns with Corguevais being a Garlean spy...after all he thought Warburton was a Garlean spy as well, but we now know he was a double agent. But this doesn't explain why Corguevais fled from Ul'dah with Ascilia and the Horn or really the overall significance of said Horn. If he wasn't a Garlean spy then he shouldn't have had too much to fear.

Nor does any of THIS shed light into who stabbed Niellefresne (or why, most likely was a hired hand of Lord Lolorito, Alacran beginnings maybe?) and why was Nielle shocked when he opened the sarcophagus, which supposedly held Warburton's body...the shock which has led myself and others to believe that it could only mean Warburton is not in it or someone else is in his place (which is sorta the same thing lol). If Warburton's body was indeed in it then why would Nielle be shocked? It would have to be either it was empty or it may have been Corguvais' body. Ugh so many questions still. F'lahminn is still alive at least so that's good and
Greinfarr is involved in the Blacksmith questline.
So I can only hope things will slowly be unraveled.
