The STF and Dev team members will be the judges of who is or is not in the wrong. Vahzl calmed down and made his/her point so there is no reason to give chase and go on the offensive.

I have seen over zealous GMs before in other MMOs. Legitimate players DO get caught in the crossfire of them blindly wielding the ban hammer, mostly because of wild accusations, doctored pictures and altered text chats that are taken out of context. Step back a bit and realize that you, under the right circumstances, could also be victimized by a false accusation. Wouldn't you want a thorough investigation then? Perhaps you would like the STF to jump to conclusions solely based on the evidence provided by someone else without first allowing you to explain your actions?

It is ok to be a "White Knight" and want to uphold the integrity of the game but lets not become doomsayers and crusaders. Let's at least let the STF continue their work and see what comes of it before we burn anyone or chop off their heads. Most of all, I think we all need to step back and realize that our role is simply to observe and report, not to condemn and execute. We do not wield the power to ban, no matter how rabid we become in our convictions.

If you got up off your ass and did what's right, the STF would have stung this major threat to the game 4 months ago. Battlecrafters would be getting nice salaries from shards. There wouldn't be a hundred rank 50 carpenters botspamming everything in the economy.

You enabled all these cheaters to get their feet in the door just as much as Square Enix did. Square Enix does what you tell them to. Because you didn't tell them to do the right thing, and demand it, they didn't do it.

You start banning indiscriminately and the game will die faster than the bots can kill it. No one will play in a game where the next day your character is gone with no real explanation why. FFXI always had GM's there testing if players were botting and if they were found guilty they were suspended pending a STF investigation to see if they were RMT's. You knew what you did and why you were suspended in FFXI (most of the time).

I don't think anyone is disputing the obvious botters like in the video (at least I hope not), but the reason they aren't banning isn't because of the players. Fairly sure most of the obvious ones have been reported multiple times by now, so where does the fault lie? With SE. The entire game was designed from the gound up to combat RMT and botting. I'm pretty sure that was always on the forefront of their minds. They just don't care right now because the game has been doing so poorly. Why dedicate an entire department of GM's when you're already suffering a massive loss? To police the 5,000 players that are left? They don't want to lose more money.
