I don't see much of a problem there, but to reiterate, I don't do it, because I like my account clean and tidy, and not banned.

Whether you mean to or not, you are supporting botting by trying to crucify those who are against it. It doesn't matter how many MMOs bots are a problem in, it's not any less severe. It effects legitimate players. It makes the game not fun. And People do care about it. Open your eyes. I don't think lynching the bots is going to help anything, but why don't you at least try to be part of the solution and not a constant antagonist.

Legit players don't like botters it is obvious, but if you "really don't care" about botters this thread should be of no interest to you and you shouldn't be posting here.

If you don't care then don't post.

If you post because you want to voice your opinion towards people who whine about botters, don't. There are plenty of empty forums to post on.

So if we even out the flaming, whining, trolling and move them on to the emptier forums, general discussion will be a much better place.

3) Botting programs are freely available, all you need to do is Google FFXIV bot and you see a very popular one in the first link return. Would I use it myself? No, because I don't trust third party software other than some of the more popular WoW addons, and the FFXI Windower (because I have enough PC knowledge to pull that program apart and poke around inside it). Do I think it is unethical? You really do have no idea how much work goes into tracking and actioning these things. It is immense. I apologise if I have been a little snarky or rude in previous posts, but being right in the centre of this kind of behaviour, it annoys me to see so many people thinking they know how it all works, and their "off the front of their brain" ideas are the fix, and should be done now. They aren't. Most ideas have been tried, and they don't work, as the RMT very quickly circumvent them.

I hope this explains a little more about my stand point on botting as it is.

It is great that you want to stop botting, it's fantastic in fact, but don't kid yourselves that you are doing it for the greater good. Already judging by the previous posts, people are standing in known botter locations and killing them, and getting a rise out of it, therefore, you are doing it for self satisfaction, as you very well know that the 20 minutes you spend MPKing them, isn't even going to make a mark on their 24/7 schedule. It doesn't even hinder them. No police officer should ever enjoy using the nightstick, no guard should ever enjoy using their pepper spray, and if they do, they shouldn't be in that position.

I am not a botting sympathiser, but in the same respect, I do not condone renegade justice, as for all you know, you could be wrong, and some poor child is sitting the other side of the screen, with no idea what to do about this guy killing him over and over. It is unlikely, yes, but not outside of the realms of possibility.

If you are so bored with the game that you have become this little self professed super hero, then you should move on to something else.
