I think were missing gear... only a few things in endgame that work for us.

AoE Rotation: Bio 2 -> Miasma -> Bio -> Bane -> swiftcast -> Shadow Flare -> Blizzard 2 spam (stronger than Holy with 300+ DoT's, 90 Shadow flare and 150 from Blizz 2, can even get another DoT on with Miasma 2 if you have Fey glow and you buff party damage with hastes)
Single Target: Bio 2 -> Miasma -> Bio -> Energy Drain -> Aero -> Energy Drain -> Ruin -> Ruin 2 -> Energy Drain -> Ruin 2 -> Energy drain -> Ruin -> Ruin 2 -> Energy drain -> Ruin -> Ruin 2 -> Energy Drain (400 DoT + 400 Energy Drain + 400 Ruin 1 + 2 combined with Drain filling in the GCD gaps)
SCH DPS is rediculous if used correctly, People forget the 10% potency increase from cleric stance which make it's DoT's extremely Potent. It's all about sacrificing healing Aetherflows to using a well placed Adlo to perform colossal damage if you set it up right. Above and Beyond being a healer
As for CC, our slow from SF is exteremly helpful for mitigating damage when usable over Sacred soil too, we have a lot, be creative!

While it is true that SCH as far as a healing class can pump out a nice amount of Dots, I'm not sure I'd ever go this route unless my party isn't taking much dmg and I can commit all my aetherflows to dmg. I'll ocassionaly throw out some dots on bosses and the random slightly stronger trash mob but at the end of the day my priority is healing and I think given the kit we have we are quite good at it.
As far as the original poster being that our job is primarily focused on dmg mitigation already, having the ability to put things to sleep and slap a 1k shield would be a little OP imo. Also, like someone said earlier soloing as a SCH is pretty solid. You just slap on Cleric Stance and apply dots, energy drain, and slap out a shadow flare while your fairy spam heals you. It may not be as fast as smn but then again you're smn and sch will always be the same level so take your pick.
I play my sch fine. I always am asked to heal dungeons. Playing solo is fine I have no probs because I am fighting. I will allow the increase to lustrate is great and I time my aetherflows to be ready in case things have gone wrong. You can't really throw a shadow flare if you are chased by mobs. My whm is only level 43 I agree I don't really use sleep or aura these days but the skill is there in case things go wrong. But the poor whm have mana issues compard to the sch. I suppose it's all a trade off
I do not really feel like I am missing something, although Aura would have been nice to blast the occasional close mob into the distance.
To be fair though, I have much less aggro issues on my SCH. If anything Eos is the one to grab aggro first, but she actually holds up pretty well (I get the feeling I'm squishier than she is...)
Eos tanked Chimera in Cutter's Cry for me once when my team wiped and I was able to solo him. Eos can seriously take a hit. It also helps that most if not all of Chimera's dmg is AOE based and fairy's are naturally resistant.
SCH is only missing CC, however I think if we get a CC skill or can cross tri disaster we should lose miasma 2
Under no circumstances should you have enmity against any monster in any dungeon with a minimally competent tank. It's mind-numbingly easy for healers to throw damage spells such as Shadow Flare and Bane because the tank should not require healing more frequently than every 15 seconds (or infinitely if you have a fairy).I play my sch fine. The only situation where you might pull hate is on extremely large speed-run type pulls, where the tank Flash or Overpower often does not reach all the enemies, and you are forced to drop gigantic heals including back-to-back Lustrates. In this instance, the DPS could easily pull hate on a stray mob that is outside of the tank's AoE and within the DPS AoE ability. If you're having trouble holding back heals before a tank nears a hazardous level of HP but they still haven't solidified hate on the pack, then you have a problem with either an under-geared on inexperienced tank, or DPS that are targeting too far outside the tank's range, or are not standing close enough when they do grab hate.
If you're having this issue in progression or story dungeons on normal-sized groups (less than 4), then your tank has a critical misunderstanding of how to fill their role and someone needs to educate them (or you can leave and not carry them through like everyone else did before that for this obviously bad tank).
P.S. As Knoahl's post mentioned, Shadow Flare should usually be paired with Swiftcast following Bio or Bane and is therefore unaffected by attacks on you.

To original poster:
SCH has blizzard 2 now along with miasma for defensive spells. I hardly ever use my "escape" spells anymore since I tend to not pull aggro all that much. I'd just use your slows and binds to their max potential.
I have noticed that most struggles are with bad tanks or under geared members. I have had pals that lost hp after than wars. Was just in wp with one. He called for a whole stack of aetherflows plus eye for an eye as well as adloquium plus fairy heals and I still almost lost him a couple times. These are the times I wish we had a stronger heal. It's not something that always needs to be use but should be ther. Even as a whm I rarely use cure 2 unless things are bad or I have free cure. I haven't had to use cure 3 at all yet.
