    Healing Paladin vs Warrior

I'm sure I'm not the only WHM in here that gets in a dungeon and sees that their Tank is a Warrior and immediately lets out a frustrated sigh. I have no trouble healing Paladins but Warrior sometimes can be healed just as easily, or are absolutely stubborn and seem to shrug off my heals. I have started leveling MRD to eventually become WAR and better understand for myself, but maybe there are healers out there that can help me. Is there a different technique to heal Warriors? Or is there something on their end that they can do in order to increase my healing potency? Some sort of skill or something they should have activated?

It has to do with our Stacks of wrath, and our notable skill, Inner Beast,
But as of 2.1, forget everything, the WAR buff accompanies both of these to better accomodate healers.

Yes, I also experienced this when I roll as a WHM. As a WHM, your ohshtbtn is kinda limited, which is Benediction. Divine Seal can manage a bit, but after that the WAR will burn out their hp again. Then switch to Presence of Mind for a faster cast speed. Usually I just switch between these spells one by one. Coordinate with the WAR to pop some CDs if the fight is going to take a bit long, because you cannot afford to burn out your mp fast.

(Unrelated side note: SCH is a better warrior healer imo, because lustrate can help much to match heal WAR huge hp)

Well, WAR will need to adjust their play style with the new adjustment, so give them our support as a healer!

I use Divine Seal ALOT. Some people will tell me I'm depending on it but I'm not. It doesn't cost to use it and doesn't take long to recharge so I'd be a fool to not take advantage of it. I honestly never use Presence of Mind but its mostly due to the fact that I am on a PS3 and its difficult to switch hotbars. Switching causes a lot of fatal mistakes. This is what I pretty much roll with right now.

    Divine Seal
Limit Break (traded out with Cleric Stance in instances I know i'll use holy but not LB)
Holy (I probably could afford to move this to another hotbar)
    Medica

    Sprint (to help dodge attacks)
    Regen
    Stoneskin
    Shroud of Saints

    Esuna
    Raise
    Benediction
    Repose

    Cure II
    Cure
    Medica II
    Swiftcast

Its all arranged in a way that I can comfortably and smoothly transition to different skills. I keep Protect and an All Party Stoneskin Macro on a separate hotbar that I use at the beginning and switch to my instance healing hotbar.

I leveled up initially as WHM healing a WAR in our FC, we did all the story dungeons together. If anything I get bored healing a PLD...

Oh, and I use a controller. Divine Seal is on a macro with Presence of Mind, so that 1 press gets me Divine Seal (if it's off CD) and 2 presses gets me both.

A good Warrior was no harder to heal than a PLD. Problem is that good Warriors were kind of like unicorns; everyone knows what it is, but no one has ever seen one.

There's not much to it, it's just:

    /micon "Divine Seal"
    /ac "Divine Seal" <me>
    /ac "Presence of Mind" <me>

One press gets you Divine Seal if it's off CD, Presence of Mind if it's not. For those "OMG" moments, press it twice and you get both.

I honestly think it has more to do with what the WAR is doing as a rotation. When I do AK with my FC I just have the Fairy do all(not exaggerating) the healing so I can DD, and she doesn't have trouble keeping the WAR alive. I have a 50 WHM as well with similar gear and it's having a tank that knows their stuff and making liberal use of Regen when they are at 5 stacks. It does take a little more communication, but outside of Twintania they aren't much different than Paladins in my experience. WAR can actually be really nice on T4 because they can hit so much harder than a PLD which helps with the burn. With all that being said however, I have run into some pug WARs that just can't handle it and it's far more apparent when you are with a WAR that doesn't play well vs a PLD that doesn't play well(which you might not even notice).

I have seen more unicorn´s in FF 14 than good warriors. But as I find a good warrior I wouldn´t trade him for 10 unicorns. Ah what the heck make that a 20 unicorns.
