Scholar is still missing something!

I love my job as scholar but I often feel handicapped at times. Conj were given sleep and Aura As a whm that skill has saved me many times as a sch We have nothing to compare. We have a series of DoTs that won't stop an enemy or kill it quickly. When I played as arcn I had a pet that dealt a good deal of damage. Fairies can't hold their own in a fight because they don't fight back So a skill to stun, repel or even slow them down would greatly help our class esp since our cross class skills are so much weaker. Either access to the trait to those skills or a similar skill but designed for our class specifically would be great. We don't even get an upgrade for physick after becoming sch. A better general healing spell would be very helpful when we are under attack and have to stop healing to evade or fight to give a boost outside of lustrate. I believe something needs to be added. Do you?

Miasma is our slow. Rank 1 is ranged, and Rank 2 is an instant AoE around us. Plus most enemies can't keep up when you sprint. We can also now root enemies with Blizzard II.

Fairy might not be able to fight back, but it still allows us to focus on doing damage while still providing heals.

Adloquium is stronger than Physick if you're not overwriting the shield. If the spell crits then it prevents a ton of damage.

Unless its AoE damage, I can easily do more damage than White Mage. The loss of Thunder hurts, but they lost it too.

Miasma 2 and shadow flare apply heavy and slow. I would like a sleep spell though.

As for the boost to Physick, rouse on the fairy works really well instead.

You all are right and I had forgotten about the heavy in miasma. It's in a macro with others and I rarely fight alone.The adloquium is really great but if you are down on hp you have to have the crit and it's not guaranteed also you still have to replenish those missing hp. Once cast you have to physick or lustrate to get those points up. And those shields work the best when the damages healed and shielded are less than what's still being done. The rouse does work and the healing would be best if eos is out. Selene can embrace but healing isn't her primary job. We are given two fairies and should be able to use them. Also I have had moments where my fairy and I both were under attack. It's rare and usually someone in the party has messed up but being able to recover from it is key to being a good healer I think. I simply think we could benefit from a stronger cure and a lasting buff that's all our own so it will be full strength and not the watered down versions protect and stoneskin.

Well, if it were me adding skills to this game (and because I am biased and love the FFXI Scholar), I would give us modified versions of Embrava and Kaustra.

They would have to be modified to fit this system (probably cost Aetherflow), but I always felt that the hybrid role of Scholar was best in FFXI.

I never played XI so maybe that's where my frustrations are coming from. Those spells do look very interesting. Maybe SQ wanted to create difference in that class between the games but lost something along the way.

Nothing is stopping you from being a WHM, seems like it would better suit you anyways....SCH's are amazing healers when played correctly, and you obviously don't know how to play them correctly because you are playing them like a whm.....

If you're in group content, then why do you have agro at all? Things have to be awful levels of tits up before you actually get agro--chances are your job is keeping the white mage up while rezzing tanks.

If you're solo, then you can tank very well for most mobs. Yesterday I was in the beastlands, grabbing three mobs at once, spreading dots and shadowflaring, and Eos was keeping me topped up the entire time, and killing things swift enough--that's if you don't want to switch over to summoner or arcanist to solo.
