Materia IV and Pudding Flesh

So before patch 2.1 people were complaining about Pudding Flesh being to rare and overpriced with like 15k a piece

Now we get Pudding from Haukke Manor HC and Pharos Sirius they drop like crazy....

Free company run Pharos and we got like 15 Pudding Flesh..?????!!!??

Cmon Square Enix it was rare thats sure but dont over react and make it drop like bullshit.. :/ now the price is 500gil for HQ pudding


Another point I dont get of the 2.1 is

Materia IV was before a rare materia but now everyone gets those from doing Main Story, lets say there are 1000-2000 people on a server not really much, thats for sure over 1000 IV Materia.... why again make it so easy?

The Craftmans Materia IV Control +4 is now 10k on our Server as much as the Materia III...

So finally /clap and congratulation SE to ruin us crafter even more

I dont think so, since crafting will be destroyed by then.... everyone will have their own lvl 50 craft class and can craft themself 2 star HQ with the overfloating materia on market.

People will still continue to farm materia, and new people getting to 50 are still getting the Materia from story and be selling em

Crafting is a mini game with a lot of grind. It has no purpose in the game. We bicker over how a ring or a helmet can be over melded to be better than the i90 version in a denial game about how the other 96% of the gear is reward and token turn in.

How is the self serving grind different from any other aspect of an MMO? People do the high level battle content to get better equipment so that they can do more content for more equipment until they have BIS on their job(s). High level battle gear makes battle easier and the only purpose for battle is to get high level gear. Circular pass-time for both battle and crafting.

You only get like 2 materia though? Not like it's repeatable over and over again so how are two killing the market. Even if it does drive the market down for a few days/weeks once everyone completes the quest, uses them/sells them the market will rebound.

I personally saved mine to use for my gear.

The difference is, crafting is a stepping stone in FF14. A stepping stone to rewarded BiS 90 and a stepping stone that can be ignored. I can get BiS craft for 400 levels, I will still need to run all the battle content to reach the final tier of content available in the game. Nothing I do now as a crafter really matters, even for my character as an end game character.

Vanya hat of healing is (a potential) BiS for Scholar (plus looks WAY better then Relic/Allagan hats imo)
Griffonskin Ring is BiS for multiple classes
Mages use iLvl 70 jewelry because of the Vit +8 Materia you can put into it

That's just 3 examples, but I wish people would stop saying crafters are useless. We ARE useful, put the effort into looking at what you can craft. Yes you can go for iLvl 90s, but just because it's iLvl 90 doesn't exactly mean it's better

Why shouldn't it be? It's a mat for a couple throwaway potions, don't see why it should be expensive or rare.
